[Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) Hybrid digital terrain models represent an effective framework to combine and integrate terrain data with different topology and resolution. Cartographic digital terrain models typically are constituted by regular grid data and can be refined by adding locally TINs that represent morphologically complex terrain parts. Direct rendering of both data sets to visualize the digital terrain model would generate geometric discontinuities as the meshes are disconnected. In this paper we present a new meshing scheme for hybrid terrain representations. High quality models without discontinuities are generated as the different representations are softly joined through an adaptive tessellation procedure. Due to the complexity of the algorithms involved in the tessellation procedure, we propose a mixed strategy where part of the information is pre-computed and efficiently encoded. This way, for rendering the model, the tessellation information has to be decoded and only additional simple operations have to be performed. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) Unlike the simplification of independent line features, the generalization of terrain contour is to handle the “line group", which describes the geomorphologic characteristics, such as the terrain valley and ridge. In decision level, the real operation object in the terrain generalization is not the line segment itself but the drainage network contained in the contour representation. This paper presents a method to generalize contour based on the analysis of drainage structure. The first step is to extract the drainage system from the contour lines and build the associations between the valley branch and the bend group of contour lines. The second step is to analyse the properties of drainage tree structure to decide which branch to be removed, and then to perform the geometric elimination of bends. In this study the extraction of drainage system is directly from contour (other than from DTM data) based on the Delaunay triangulation model. Three kinds of tree structure organization are investigated: the hierarchical binary tree representing the bend inclusion relationship contained in each contour line, the planar structure tree describing valley topological relationship and the semantic hierarchical tree representing valley joint level structure from the point of view of hydrology. [Termes IGN] visualisation 3DRésumé : (Editeur) Over recent years the geo-community has used advances in hardware, software and memory to develop software for visualising remotely sensed data. Its 3D nature and capability for integration with other remotely sensed data at high resolution renders Lidar data ideal for 3D visualisation, particularly in an immersive environment. The authors review the state of the art in (geo-)visualisation techniques and propose a system, effectively an algorithm warehouse for an immersive visualisation interface for Lidar data. [Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (auteur) The quantitative study of an infrastructure network in geography often consists in assessing indicators on the network components (nodes and sections). In that respect, the network is modelled by a graph whose vertices and edges respectively correspond to the nodal and linear network infrastructures. Then, such a graph can be studied thanks to tools provided by the graph theory and mainly based on the shortest paths features. The most typical indicators are accessibility (closeness from a given vertex to the others graph vertices, computed in summarizing the shortest path lengths) and centrality or “betweenness” (contribution of a given vertex or edge to the origin-destination paths, computed in counting the shortest paths passing through this component). For this reason, accessibility and centrality features of a vertex depend on the shortest paths distribution on the network, and also on the relative location of the vertex inside the network.
However, the spatial location of vertices predisposes them to be accessible and central, regardless of the relational potentialities provided by the network structure. Actually, a vertex located at the centre (resp. on the periphery) of the network area is more (resp. less) likely to be accessible and central. Therefore, it seems relevant to highlight how the network makes the vertices accessible and central, independently on the advantages only provided by their spatial location. Then, we show that it is possible to make allowances for the corresponding “network and spatial effects” by comparing the shortest paths traditionnally taken into account to compute these indicators with a set of optimal paths called “Delaunay paths”. Besides the study of accessibility and centrality indicators, our method can be extended to the study of any indicator (structural or not), as long as such an indicator is usually computed from shortest paths. It finally provides a useful tool to interpret indicators on a network and to understand the networks contribution to the phenomena described by these indicators.Numéro de notice : A2007-109 Affiliation des auteurs : COGIT (1988-2011) Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.4000/cybergeo.5532 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.4000/cybergeo.5532 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=101424
