[Termes IGN] transport urbainRésumé : (Auteur) An urban transportation network map is designed to illustrate the user information about availability of modes of transport – types of communication lines and their distribution – on a specifi c area. The map should be designed in such a way that passenger (user) is able to identify its location and select appropriate route to the chosen destination. The main element of the map is the connections network of all types of modes of transport (e.g. buses, trams and trains). A map designer should also mark locations of stops and add necessary descriptions. The network is usually presented as polylines in different colours depending on types of modes of transport (bus and tram routes); moreover railroads and underground routes can be additionally specify by different pattern. If in the city there are a few kinds of specifi c mode of transport (e.g. express bus, night bus), they can be extra distinguished using different colours. (Cain, 2008). This increases the functionality and legibility of the map as regards presentation of individual communication lines, especially in the case of large metropolitan areas. [Termes IGN] transportRésumé : (auteur) Private transport accounts for a large amount of total CO2 emissions, thus significantly contributing to global warming. Tools that actively support people in engaging in a more sustainable life-style without restricting their mobility are urgently needed. How can location-aware information and communication technology (ICT) enable novel interactive and participatory approaches that help people in becoming more sustainable? In this survey paper, we discuss the different aspects of this challenge from a technological and cognitive engineering perspective, based on an overview of the main information processes that may influence mobility behavior. We review the state-of-the-art of research with respect to various ways of influencing mobility behavior (e.g., through providing real-time, user-specific, and location-based feedback) and suggest a corresponding research agenda. We conclude that future research has to focus on reflecting individual goals in providing personal feedback and recommendations that take into account different motivational stages. In addition, a long-term and large-scale empirical evaluation of such tools is necessary. [Termes IGN] transport maritimeRésumé : (auteur) The Italian vessel Costa Concordia wrecked on January 13th 2012 offshore the Giglio Island (Tuscany, Italy), with the loss of 32 lives. Salvage operation of the vessel started immediately after the wreck. This operation was the largest and most expensive maritime salvage ever attempted on a wrecked ship and it ended in July 2014 when the Costa Concordia was removed from the Giglio Island, and dragged in the port of Genoa where it was dismantled. The refloating and removal phases of the Costa Concordia were monitored, in the period between 14th and 27th of July, exploiting SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images acquired by the X-band COSMO-SkyMed satellite constellation in crisis mode. The main targets of the monitoring system were: (i) the detection of possible spill of pollutant material from the vessel and (ii) to exclude that oil slicks, illegally produced by other vessels, could be improperly linked to the naval convoy during its transit along the route between the Giglio Island and the port of Genoa. Results point out that the adopted monitoring system, through the use of the COSMO-SkyMed constellation, can be profitably employed to monitor emergency phases related to single ship or naval convoy over wide areas and with a suitable temporal coverage. Furthermore, the refloating and removal phases of the Costa Concordia were a success because no pollution was produced during the operations.
