[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) LiDAR provides highly accurate 3-D point clouds. However, data need to be manually labeled in order to provide subsequent useful information. Manual annotation of such data is time-consuming, tedious, and error prone, and hence, in this article, we present three automatic methods for annotating trees in LiDAR data. The first method requires high-density point clouds and uses certain LiDAR data attributes for the purpose of tree identification, achieving almost 90% accuracy. The second method uses a voxel-based 3-D convolutional neural network on low-density LiDAR data sets and is able to identify most large trees accurately but struggles with smaller ones due to the voxelization process. The third method is a scaled version of the PointNet++ method and works directly on outdoor point clouds and achieves an F score of 82.1% on the ISPRS benchmark data set, comparable to the state-of-the-art methods but with increased efficiency. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) The quality and comfort of the urban environment serve as one of the most important factors for ensuring the competitiveness of municipalities, regions and countries. The quality of the urban environment is determined by the qual-ity of its three components: anthropogenic, natural and social environment. The main problem of assessing the state of the urban environment is the fragmentation of methodological approaches and adequate tools for assessing the qualitative state of the urban environment. This objectively makes it difficult for municipal authorities to use this assessment as an ele-ment in the system of urban planning decision making. We have developed an intelligent information system to provide an assessment of potential, real and lost opportunities of the urban environment using fuzzy expert knowledge. This system operates in the conditions of using non-numeric, inaccurate and incomplete information to ensure the management of sustainable city development. The system for assessing the potential, real and lost opportunities of the urban environment is based on the use of fuzzy logic equations. It allows to evaluate the effectiveness of metabolic transformations of each subsystem of the urban environment. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) The aggregation of spatial data is a recurring problem in geoinformation science. Aggregating data means subsuming multiple pieces of information into a less complex representation. It is pursued for various reasons, like having a less complex data structure to apply further processing algorithms or a simpler visual representation as targeted in map generalization. In this thesis, we identify aggregation problems dealing with spatial data and formalize themas optimization problems. That means we set up a function that is capable of evaluating valid solutions to the considered problem, like a cost function for minimization problems. To each problem introduced, we present an algorithm that finds a valid solution that optimizes this objective function. In general, this superiority with respect to the quality of the solution comes at the cost of computation efficiency, a reason why non-exact approaches like heuristics are widely used for optimization. Nevertheless, the higher quality of solutions yielded by exact approaches is undoubtedly important. On the one hand, “good” solutions are sometimes not sufficient. On the other hand, exact approaches yield solutions that maybe used as benchmarks for the evaluation of non-exact approaches. This kind of application is of particular interest since heuristic approaches, for example, give no guarantee on the quality of solutions found. Furthermore, algorithms that provide exact solutions to optimization problems reveal weak spots of underlying models. A result that does not satisfy the user cannot be excused with a mediocre performance of an applied heuristic. With this motivation, we developed several exact approaches for aggregation problems, which we present in this thesis. Since we deal with spatial data, for all problems considered, the aggregation is based on both geometric and semantic aspects although the focus varies. The first problem we discuss is about visualizing a road network in the context of navigation. Given a fixed location in the network, we aim for a clear representation of the surroundings. For this purpose, we introduce an equivalence relation for destinations in the network based on which we perform the aggregation. We succeed in designing an efficient algorithm that aggregates as many equivalent destinations as possible. Furthermore, we tackle a class of similar and frequently discussed problems concerning the aggregation of areal units into larger, connected regions. Since these problems are NP-complete, i.e. extraordinarily complex, we do not aim for an efficient exact algorithm (which is suspected not to exist) but present a strong improvement to existing exact approaches. In another setup, we present an efficient algorithm for the analysis of urban green-space supply. Performing a hypothetical assignment of citizens to available green spaces, it detects local shortages and patterns in the accessibility of green space within a city. Finally, we introduce and demonstrate a tool for detecting route preferences of cyclists based on a selection of given trajectories. Examining a set of criteria forming suitable candidates, we aggregate them efficiently to the best-fitting derivable criterion. Overall, we present exact approaches to various aggregation problems. In particular, the NP-complete problem we deal with firmly underscores, as expected, the need for heuristic approaches. For applications asking for an immediate solution, it may be reasonable to apply a heuristic approach. This holds in particular due to easy and generally applicable meta-heuristics being available. However, with this thesis, we argue for applying exact approaches if possible. The guaranteed superior quality of solutions speaks for itself. Besides, we give additional examples which show that exact approaches can be applied efficiently as well. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Some studies have confirmed the association between urban public services and population density; however, other studies using census data, for example, have arrived at the opposite conclusion. Mobile signaling data provide new technological tools to investigate the subject. Based on the data of 20 million 2G mobile phone users in downtown Shanghai and the land use data of urban public service facilities, this study explores the spatiotemporal correlation between population density and public service facilities’ locations in downtown Shanghai and its variation laws. The correlation between individual population density at day vs. night and urban public service facilities distribution was also examined from a dynamic perspective. The results show a correlation between service facilities’ locations and urban population density at different times of the day. As a result, the average population density observed over a long period of time (day-time periodicity or longer) with census data or remote sensing data does not directly correlation with the distribution of public service facilities despite its correlation with public service facilities distribution. Among them, there is a significant spatial correlation between public service facilities and daytime population density and a significant spatial correlation between non-public service facilities and night-time population density. The spatial and temporal changes in the relationship between urban population density and service facilities is due to changing crowd behavior; however, the density of specific types of behavior is the real factor that affects the layout of urban public service facilities. The results show that mobile signaling data and land use data of service facilities are of great value for studying the spatiotemporal correlations between urban population density and service facilities Numéro de notice : A2020-115 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.3390/ijgi9010038 Date de publication en ligne : 13/01/2020 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/ijgi9010038 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=94725
