[Termes IGN] zone d'intérêtRésumé : (auteur) Image mosaicking is a process during which multiple orthoimages are combined into a single seamless composite orthoimage. One of the most difficult steps in the automatic mosaicking of orthoimages is the seamline determination. This paper presents a novel algorithm that selects seamlines based on marker-based watershed segmentation. A representative seamline is extracted at the object level and the pixel level as follows. First, a watershed segmentation is performed to obtain the objects. To avoid over-segmentation, a regional adaptive marker-based watershed segmentation is proposed. Second, the object difference estimated by the correlation coefficient of each object is calculated, and the region adjacency matrix is built. Third, a technique for minimizing the maximum object cost is adopted to determine the objects through which the seamlines pass. Finally, pixel-level optimization is performed using Dijkstra's algorithm with a binary min-heap to determine the final seamlines. The experimental results on digital aerial orthoimages in different areas demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method compared with other algorithms. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Mosaicking is a key step in the production of digital orthophoto maps (DOMs), especially for large-scale urban orthophotos. During this step, manual intervention is commonly involved to avoid the case where the seamline crosses obvious objects (e.g., buildings), which causes geometric discontinuities on the DOMs. How to guide the seamline to avoid crossing obvious objects has become a popular topic in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing. Thus, a new semi-global matching (SGM)-based method to guide seamline determination is proposed for urban orthophoto mosaicking in this study, which can greatly eliminate geometric discontinuities. The approximate epipolar geometry of the orthophoto pairs is first derived and proven, and the approximate epipolar image pair is then generated by rotating the two orthorectified images according to the parallax direction. A SGM algorithm is applied to their overlaps to obtain the corresponding pixel-wise disparity. According to a predefined disparity threshold, the overlap area is identified as the obstacle and non-obstacle areas. For the non-obstacle regions, Hilditch thinning algorithm is used to obtain the skeleton line, followed by Dijkstra’s algorithm to search for the optimal path on the skeleton network as the seamline between two orthophotos. A whole seamline network is constructed based on the strip information recorded in flight. In the experimental section, the approximate epipolar geometric theory of the orthophoto is first analyzed and verified, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is then validated by comparing its results with the results of the geometry-based, OrthoVista, and orthoimage elevation synchronous model (OESM)-based methods. Note de contenu : 1- Introduction

[Termes IGN] viticultureIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) This thesis work proposes a novel pointwise approach for texture analysis in the scope of very high resolution (VHR) remote sensing imagery. This approach takes into consideration only characteristic pixels, not all pixels of the image, to represent and characterize textural features. Due to the fact that increasing the spatial resolution of satellite sensors leads to the lack of stationarity hypothesis in the acquired images, such an approach becomes relevant since only the interaction and characteristics of keypoints are exploited. Moreover, as this technique does not need to consider all pixels inside the image like classical dense approaches, it is more capable to deal with large-size image data offered by VHR remote sensing acquisition systems. In this work, our pointwise strategy is performed by exploiting the local maximum and local minimum pixels (in terms of intensity) extracted from the image. It is integrated into several texture analysis frameworks with the help of different techniques and methods such as the graph theory, the covariance-based approach, the geometric distance measurement, etc. As a result, a variety of texture-based applications using remote sensing data (both VHR optical and radar images) are tackled such as image retrieval, segmentation, classification, and change detection, etc. By performing dedicated experiments to each thematic application, the effectiveness and relevance of the proposed approach are confirmed and validated. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Object-oriented remote sensing image classification is becoming more and more popular because it can integrate spatial information from neighboring regions of different shapes and sizes into the classification procedure to improve the mapping accuracy. However, object identification itself is difficult and challenging. Superpixels, which are groups of spatially connected similar pixels, have the scale between the pixel level and the object level and can be generated from oversegmentation. In this paper, we establish a new classification framework using a superpixel-based graphical model. Superpixels instead of pixels are applied as the basic unit to the graphical model to capture the contextual information and the spatial dependence between the superpixels. The advantage of this treatment is that it makes the classification less sensitive to noise and segmentation scale. The contribution of this paper is the application of a graphical model to remote sensing image semantic segmentation. It is threefold. 1) Gradient fusion is applied to multispectral images before the watershed segmentation algorithm is used for superpixel generation. 2) A probabilistic fusion method is designed to derive node potential in the superpixel-based graphical model to address the problem of insufficient training samples at the superpixel level. 3) A boundary penalty between the superpixels is introduced in the edge potential evaluation. Experiments on three real data sets were conducted. The results show that the proposed method performs better than the related state-of-the-art methods tested.
