[Termes IGN] sinuositéRésumé : (Auteur) This paper analyses the structure of roads (directed) and the pedestrian (undirected) networks in Lausanne (Switzerland). Centrality and sinuosity indexes are computed to perform spatial analysis at various scales. The study shows that the sinuosity index varies a lot at local (pedestrian) scale. The link between these variations and the underlying street patterns is investigated. The method also suggests that the comparison between Euclidean and shortest path distances can be used to improve pedestrian network by creating promising shortcuts, or alternatively to detect major network topological errors. [Termes IGN] image hyperspectraleRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a new nonlinear unmixing method. Based on relative distances which imply nonlinearity, the method introduces the “fractional distance” as a key variable that quantifies interactions between pixels and endmembers. Relationships between fractional distances and abundance fractions are built through networks. Because an equal spectral mixture of ground spectral classes present on the surface sensed is likely impossible, the proposed method, due to its mathematical concept, reveals unknown endmembers. Three versions of the method have been developed: the nonconstrained, the sum-to-one, and the fully constrained versions. Evaluation of the method using synthetic and real data showed that the method is robust with clear and interpretable results and provides reliable abundance fractions, particularly the sum-to-one and the fully constrained versions of the method. The new unmixing method has also been compared with the fully constrained least squares method. [Termes IGN] tâche claireRésumé : (Auteur) We present a general framework of hierarchical methods for point cluster analysis on networks, and then consider individual clustering procedures and their time complexities defined by typical variants of distances between clusters. The distances considered here are the closest-pair distance, the farthest-pair distance, the average distance, the median-pair distance and the radius distance. This paper will offer a menu for users to choose hierarchical clustering algorithms on networks from a time complexity point of view. [Termes IGN] reconstruction 3D du bâtiRésumé : (Auteur) Three-dimensional building models are often now produced from lidar and photogrammetric data. The quality control of these models is a relevant issue both from the scientific and practical points of view. This work presents a method for the quality control of such models. The input model (3D building data) is co-registered to the verification data using a 3D surface matching method. The 3D surface matching evaluates the Euclidean distances between the verification and input data-sets. The Euclidean distances give appropriate metrics for the 3D model quality. This metric is independent of the method of data capture. The proposed method can favorably address the reference system accuracy, positional accuracy and completeness. Three practical examples of the method are provided for demonstration. [Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (Auteur) Spatial clustering is the process of grouping similar objects based on their distance, connectivity, or rel-ative density in space. It has been employed in the field of spatial analysis for years. In order to select the prop-er spatial clustering methods for geospatial information systems, we need to consider the characteristics of different clustering methods, relative to the objectives that we are trying to achieve. In this paper, we give a detailed discussion of different types of clustering methods from a data mining perspective. Analysis of the advantages and limitations of some classical clustering methods are given. Subsequently we discuss applying spatial clustering methods as part of geospatial information systems, with respect to distance functions, data models, non-spatial attributes and performance.
