[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) The provision of webGIS-based water quality data services has become a priority area for both the public and administrative sectors in the context of the pandemic emergency associated with the global spread of COVID-19. Current geographic, monitoring and decision supporting systems, typically based on web-based geospatial information, greatly facilitate the sharing of spatial and temporal data from environmental databases and real-time analyses. In the present study, different water quality indices are determined, compared and geovisualized, during which the changes in the quality of the shallow groundwater resources of a settlement are examined in the period (2011–2019) in an eastern Hungarian settlement. Another objective of the research is to determine three water quality indices (Water Quality Index, CCME Water Quality Index, Contamination degree) and categorize water samples based on the same input spatial and temporal data using self-developed freely available geovisualization tools. Groundwater quality was assessed by using different water quality indices. Significant pollution of the groundwater in the time period before the installation of a sewage network was shown. Regarding water quality, significant positive changes were shown based on all three water quality indices in the years after installing a sewage network (2015–2019). The presence of pollution apart from the positive changes suggests that the purification processes will last for a long time. Note de contenu : Introduction générale

[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) This paper addresses the evaluation of algorithms reconstructing a watertight surface from a point cloud acquired on an open scene. The objective is to set a rigorous protocol measuring the quality of the reconstruction and to propose a quality metric that is informative with respect to the various qualities that such an algorithm should have, and in particular its capacity to interpolate and extrapolate accurately. Our approach aims at being more informative and rigorous than previous works on this topic. In addition, we use publicly available data and our implementation is open-source. We argue that a rigorous evaluation of surface reconstruction of open scenes needs to be performed on synthetic data where a perfect continuous ground truth surface is available, so we developed our own LiDAR simulator of which we give a description in the present paper. [Termes IGN] WebSIGRésumé : (Auteur) The increasing prevalence of (open) geospatial data has amplified the demand for online tools to input, manage, and analyse data and generate cartographic outputs. WebGIS platforms are responding to this demand by delivering cost-effective, relatively easy to use compared to desktop GIS software, and increasingly sophisticated tools. The continued advancement of webGIS platforms highlights the necessary, but tricky, integration of these platforms into university curriculum. In this paper, we develop an evaluation framework for users to assess, compare, and benchmark the cartographic capabilities of four webGIS platforms–ArcGIS Online, Carto, Mapbox, and GIS Cloud–against standard GIS functionality. The webGIS platforms studied offer advanced data management and some spatial analysis capabilities, but in contrast, they have limited cartographic capabilities for creating static maps. Recognizing that platforms change, and change often, this study serves to benchmark the capabilities of webGIS platforms, while reflecting on the observed challenges to teaching neocartography tools.
