[Termes IGN] système expertRésumé : (éditeur) This book promotes new research results in the field of advanced fuzzy logic applications. The book has eight chapters, with the following thematic areas: fuzzy mathematics, adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system, inference methods, expert systems, electrical systems, and application in management and field-programmable gate array. The introductory chapter aims to recall some algebraic relations that describe fuzzy rule bases and fuzzy blocks as algebraic applications. Other works presented are: a study on the convergence of sequence spaces with respect to intuitionistic fuzzy norms and their topological and algebraic properties; an ANFIS application to identifying the online bearing fault; methods of conditional inference for fuzzy control systems; an application of fuzzy logic and fuzzy expert systems in material synthesis methods; control of electrical systems in conditions of incomplete information regarding the values of diagnostic parameters; a methodology for evaluating the causality of factors in organization management; and a technical study on the functional safety of an FPGA fuzzy logic controller. The authors have published worked examples and case studies resulting from their research in the field. Readers will have access to new solutions and answers to questions related to the emerging field of theoretical fuzzy logic applications and their implementation. Note de contenu : 1- Introductory chapter: Basic properties of fuzzy relations

[Termes IGN] répartition géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Determination of spatial distribution of coal quality parameters can ease management of the operations in coal mines. In this study, in order to provide guidance for the excavations, Can coal mine production map showing regions having suitable coal parameters as feed coals for a power plant and also for public sale was prepared using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system tool. Statistical relationships among calorific value, ash content and sulphur content were evaluated using the data obtained from boreholes opened in the mine between 2006 and 2009. According to the obtained production map, coals of Can mine are not suitable for public sale because of their high sulphur content and hence they should be blended with low sulphur coals to meet the requirements, before sale. [Termes IGN] urbanisationRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a fuzzy inference guided cellular automata approach. Semantic or linguistic knowledge on urban development is expressed as fuzzy rules, based on which fuzzy inference is applied to determine the urban development potential for each pixel. A defuzzification process converts the development potential to the required neighbourhood development level, which is taken by cellular automata as initial approximation for its transition rules. Such approximations are updated through spatial calibration over townships and temporal calibration with multi-temporal satellite images. Assessment of the modelling results is based on three evaluation measures: fitness and Type I and Type II errors. The approach is applied to model the growth of the city of Indianapolis, Indiana over a period of 30 years from 1973 to 2003. A fitness level of 100 + 20% with 30% average errors can be achieved for 80% of the townships in urban-growth prediction.
