[Termes IGN] surveillance écologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Les activités minières, parfois clandestines, en Guyane Française sont mal ou pas contrôlées par les autorités. Elles causent des dégâts majeurs à la nature (déboisement sauvage, déversement de mercure, etc.) La recherche d'outils fiables et peu onéreux permettant la cartographie des zones d'orpaillage et le suivi de leurs évolutions dans le temps présente un grand intérêt local. L'objectif de cette étude est d'analyser le potentiel de l'imagerie satellitaire optique et radar pour l'identification et la cartographie des zones d'orpaillage en Guyane française. Des images acquises en entre 1990 et 2003 ont ainsi été analysées. L'information issue de l'imagerie satellitaire radar (RADARSAT, SIR-C) et optique (SPOT, LANDSAT) a été étudiée. Les résultats montrent la faible capacité du capteur RADARSAT (monobande) pour cette application. Quant aux images SIR-C (multi-bandes), elles fournissent une meilleure détection des zones d'orpaillage. L'interprétation réalisée sur les images SPOT et LANDSAT montre que les capteurs optiques constituent le meilleur outil pour la cartographie de cette activité. L'intérêt des séquences multi-dates pour cartographier l'évolution du paysage soumis depuis quelques années à d'importantes modifications dues à l'activité des orpailleurs a été démontré. De même, on peut procéder à des contrôles pour déterminer si les exploitations cartographiées sont légales ou clandestines et si le conscessionnaire exploite la surface allouée par le permis (localisation et étendue). The tutorials will cover the practical applications of thermographic and thermal sensing equipment, thermographic techniques, in-house predictive maintenance, and thermal imaging processing. The conference sessions have evolved over the years as applications have been developed. Session 1, chaired by Ron Lucier, covers Predictive Maintenance Applications for Facilities and Utilities. Papers deal with thermography for facility maintenance and come from the USA, Canada, and Spain. George Baird will chair Session 2, Ethics and Certifications. This session has provided information regarding standards, ethics, and certification for the last four conferences. This year it offers a recommended body of knowledge for thermographic diagnostics and an update of certification by ASNT. We have Sven-Ake Ljungberg and Lee Alien co-chairing the Buildings and Structures session. This session offers some new applications of infrared thermography to buildings and other structures. Presentations are from the USA, Sweden, Spain, and Denmark. Herb Kaplan and Bob Madding co-chair the session on Materials Evaluation. This is a rapidly growing field involving nondestructive evaluations of materials during production and application. This session contains papers from the USA, Canada, and the USSR. Session 5 on Processes and Products is co-chaired by Dennis Dresser and Dag Holmsten. This session contains the keynote address by Mr. Holmsten, Fifteen Years of Thermal Process Monitoring in the Cement Industry: Progress and Development (not available for publication). Jan Eklund and Jon Mohler co-chair Session 6, Research and Development. This session has grown since Thermosense IX and has taken a full day at Thermosense for the past two years.
