[Termes IGN] transformation de HoughRésumé : (Auteur) In this work, we present a fuzzy approach to the analysis of airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images of urban environments. In particular, we want to show how to implement structure extraction algorithms based on fuzzy clustering unsupervised approaches. To this aim, the idea is to segment first the sensed data and recognize very basic urban classes (vegetation, roads, and built areas). Then, from these classes, we extract structures and infrastructures of interest. The initial clustering step is obtained by means of fuzzy logic concepts and the successive analyses are able to exploit the corresponding fuzzy partition. As a possible complete procedure for urban SAR images, in this paper, we focus on the street tracking and extraction problem. Three road extraction algorithms available in literature (namely, the connectivity weighted Hough transform (CWHT), the rotation Hough transform, and the shortest path extraction) have been modified to be consistent with the previously computed fuzzy clustering results. Their different capabilities are applied for the characterization of streets with different width and shape. The whole approach is validated by the analysis of AIRSAR images of Los Angeles, CA. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) There is a potentially strong demand for detailed 3D spatial data of urban areas. A groundbased laser range scanner is one of the promising devices to acquire range images of urban 3D objects. In this paper, the authors propose an automated registration method of multiple overlapping range images for the reconstruction of 3D urban objects. Registration is achieved in two steps, pairwise registration and multiple registration assuming that one rotating axis of a laser range scanner is almost vertical. At first, pairwise registration determines the approximate values of four transformation parameters, a horizontal rotation angle and three translation parameters of a pair of neighboring range images. Then through multiple registration, the transformation parameters of all range images are adjusted using the approximate values so as to minimize the total errors. An outdoor experiment was conducted registering 42 range images to construct a 3D model of a building on the campus of the University of Tokyo. The accuracy of the model was examined using a 1:500 scale digital map and GPS measured locations of the viewpoints. The efficiency and accuracy of the registration method is demonstrated in this paper. [Termes IGN] transformation de HoughRésumé : (Auteur) The automation of relative orientation (RO) has been the major focus of the photogrammetric research community in the last decade. Despite the reported progress, there is no reliable (robust) approach that can perform automatic relative orientation (ARO) using large-scale imagery over urban areas. A reliable and general method for solving matching problems in various photogrammetric activities has been developed at The Ohio State University. This approach has been used to solve single photo resection using free-form linear features, surface matching and relative orientation. The approach estimates the parameters of a mathematical model relating the entities of two data sets when the correspondence of the involved entities is unknown. When applied to relative orientation, the co planarity model is used to relate extracted edge pixels and/or feature points from a stereo-pair. In its execution, the relative orientation parameters are solved sequentially, using the co planarity model to evaluate all possible pairings of the input primitives and choosing the most probable solution. As a result of this technique, the matched entities that correspond to the parameter solution are implicitly determined. Experiments using real data conclude that this is a robust method for relative orientation for both urban and rural scenes. [Termes IGN] villeRésumé : (Auteur) Internet technology allows the fast and easy dissemination of GIS information to any interested user, for a multitude of applications. European legislation enforces government and city environmental departmental publication of environmental and other information to the public. Specialised users and organisations also want to work with this data. The authors therefore created an Internet solution for the distribution of navigable and environmental City Information. Piloting the toolkit in the Cities of Antwerp, Munich and Athens showed that the toolkit achieves what it was designed for and that it meets end-user needs and requirements.
