[Termes IGN] station de référenceRésumé : (auteur) This work presents the concept of RTK positioning based on two or three rover GNSS receivers from two or three different reference stations. Additionally, detailed mathematical models of constrained least squares adjustments of RTK positioning based on two or three different RTK/GNSS receivers are presented. The models were tested on real RTK data using three rover Trimble RTK receivers and three reference stations of the ASG-EUPOS system. Practical calculations obtained from the adjustments showed improved accuracy over traditional RTK positioning when reference GNSS stations were located far away (about 30 km from the mobile RTK receivers). The maximum average absolute error for horizontal and vertical coordinates in constrained RTK positioning was over two times lower than in the single baseline RTK positioning, and reached 0.021 and 0.046 m, respectively. Since the concept of constrained and redundant, single-epoch RTK adjustment can be used for static or kinematic applications in real-time positioning, it can also be widely used in geoscience surveying and remote sensing. [Termes IGN] topographieRésumé : (auteur) The in situ measurement of the leaf area index (LAI) from gap fraction is often affected by terrain slope. Path length correction (PLC) is commonly used to mitigate the topographic effect on the LAI measurements. However, the terrain-induced uncertainty and the accuracy improvement of the PLC for LAI measurements have not been systematically analyzed, hindering the establishment of an appropriate protocol for LAI measurements over mountainous regions. In this article, the above knowledge gap was filled using a computer simulation framework, which enables the estimated LAI before and after PLC to be benchmarked against the known and precise model truth. The simulation was achieved by using CANOPIX software and a dedicatedly designed ray-tracing method for continuous and discrete canopies, respectively. Simulations show that the slope distorts the angular pattern of the gap fraction, i.e., increasing the gap fraction in the down-slope direction and reducing it in the up-slope direction. The horizontally equivalent hemispheric gap fraction from the PLC can reconstruct the azimuthally symmetric angular pattern of the real horizontal surface. The azimuthally averaged gap fraction for sloping terrain can both be underestimated or overestimated depending on the LAI and can be successfully corrected through PLC. The topography-induced uncertainty in LAI measurements is found to be ~14.3% and >20% for continuous and discrete canopies, respectively. This uncertainty can be, respectively, reduced to ~1.8% and Numéro de notice : A2020-379 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : FORET/IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1109/TGRS.2019.2963366 Date de publication en ligne : 30/01/2020 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1109/TGRS.2019.2963366 Format de la ressource électronique : url article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=95372

[Termes IGN] système d'information foncièreRésumé : (auteur) Spatial information of land values is fundamental for planners and policy makers. Individual appraisals are costly, explaining the need for predictive modelling. Recent work has investigated using Space Syntax to analyse urban access and explain land values. However, the spatial dependence of urban land markets has not been addressed in such studies. Further, the selection of meaningful variables is commonly conducted under non-spatialized modelling conditions. The objective of this paper is to construct a land value map using a geostatistical approach using Space Syntax and a spatialized variable selection. The methodology is applied in Guatemala City. We used an existing dataset of residential land value appraisals and accessibility metrics. Regression-kriging was used to conduct variable selection and derive a model for spatial prediction. The prediction accuracy is compared with a multivariate regression. The results show that a spatialized variable selection yields a more parsimonious model with higher prediction accuracy. New insights were found on how Space Syntax explains land value variability when also modelling the spatial dependence. Space Syntax can contribute with relevant spatialized information for predictive land value modelling purposes. Finally, the spatial modelling framework facilitates the production of spatial information of land values that is relevant for planning practice. [Termes IGN] zone inondableRésumé : (auteur) Estimating flood discharge at ungauged sites is a significant challenge facing water resources planners and engineers during the planning and design of hydraulic structures, managing flood prone zones, and operating artificial waterbodies. Developing more robust models to improve the reliability of flood discharge estimations is thus very useful. The role of ecological attributes including land use/land cover (LULC), hydrologic soil groups (HSG), and watershed physical characteristics (area, main stream length, average slope), and watershed shape coefficients (form, compactness, circularity, and elongation) in explaining the overall variation in flood magnitude in 39 watersheds, located in the southern basin of the Caspian Sea, was investigated. As the LULC and HSG were found to play a significant role in explaining total variation (40–89%) in flood magnitudes, their inclusion in the estimation of flood magnitudes can provide more reliable estimates of flood risk and magnitude.
