[Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (Editeur) Given different types of constraints on human life, people must make decisions that satisfy social activity needs. Minimizing costs (i.e. distance, time, or money) associated with travel plays an important role in perceived and realized social quality of life. Identifying optimal interaction locations on road networks when there are multiple moving objects (MMO) with space–time constraints remains a challenge. In this research, we formalize the problem of finding dynamic ideal interaction locations for MMO as a spatial optimization model and introduce a context-based geoprocessing heuristic framework to address this problem. As a proof of concept, a case study involving identification of a meetup location for multiple people under traffic conditions is used to validate the proposed geoprocessing framework. Five heuristic methods with regard to efficient shortest-path search space have been tested. We find that the R* tree-based algorithm performs the best with high quality solutions and low computation time. This framework is implemented in a geographic information systems environment to facilitate integration with external geographic contextual information, e.g. temporary road barriers, points of interest, and real-time traffic information, when dynamically searching for ideal meetup sites. The proposed method can be applied in trip planning, carpooling services, collaborative interaction, and logistics management. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) Advances in tracking technology enable the gathering of spatio-temporal data in the form of trajectories, which when analysed can convey useful knowledge. In particular, discovering groups of moving objects is a valuable means for a wide class of problems related to mobility. The task of group mining has been investigated by considering mostly the spatial closeness and similarity of the trajectories, while little attention has been paid to the relationships between the trajectories and time-changing nature of the trajectories. The relationships may provide evidence of interactions between the moving objects. The time-changing nature may provide evidence of dynamics of the movements. Therefore, interactions and dynamics can be sources of information to be considered in order to discover new forms of groups. Motivated by this, we introduce the concept of crews and propose a method to discover crews. A crew gathers moving objects with similar interactions and similar dynamics. The proposed method relies on i) new movement parameters, which explicitly consider interactions and dynamics, and ii) a distance-free clustering algorithm, which groups objects based on the similarity of the movement parameters. We conduct extensive experiments, which include a quantitative evaluation of the quality of the crews and comparison with alternative solutions. [Termes IGN] topologie capteurRésumé : (auteur) This paper proposes a novel methodology for lidar point cloud processing that takes advantage of the implicit topology of various lidar sensors to derive 2D images from the point cloud while bringing spatial structure to each point. The interest of such a methodology is then proved by addressing the problems of segmentation and disocclusion of mobile objects in 3D lidar scenes acquired using street-based Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS). Most of the existing lines of research tackle those problems directly in the 3D space. This work promotes an alternative approach by using this image representation of the 3D point cloud, taking advantage of the fact that the problem of disocclusion has been intensively studied in the 2D image processing community over the past decade. Using the image derived from the sensor data by exploiting the sensor topology, a semi-automatic segmentation procedure based on depth histograms is presented. Then, a variational image inpainting technique is introduced to reconstruct the areas that are occluded by objects. Experiments and validation on real data prove the effectiveness of this methodology both in terms of accuracy and speed. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (Auteur) Trajectory analysis has attracted growing attention in the research field of geography. Beyond traditional moving object trajectories, another type of trajectory exists in which the coordinates are object attributes rather than geographical coordinates. In this paper, a framework to analyse these so-called attribute trajectories is proposed that uses four techniques typically employed in the analysis of moving object trajectories: the Reeb graph, the similarity matrix, the convoy and the mega-convoy. The Reeb graph provides the ability to visualise the temporal dynamics of attribute similarities. The similarity matrix is a supplement of the Reeb graph whose purpose is to visualise the pairwise similarities among the attributes. Moreover, the similarity matrix forms a basis for clustering. The convoy highlights objects whose attributes remain similar for a sufficiently long period. The mega-convoy reduces the number of convoys and reveals their evolutionary histories by merging overlapping convoys. A small real-world meteorological dataset is used as an example to illustrate the attribute trajectory analysis framework and the techniques. This paper aims to form a starting point for applying trajectory analysis techniques in many research fields.
