[Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (auteur) The current user-generated content (UGC) in mobile location-based services (LBS) is mainly bound to geographic points and represented based on web mappings. The authors have proposed a Human-Centered Mobile Mapping framework to integrate smartphones’ positioning functions with various maps including hand-drawn maps. The framework is able to extend the current extent of UGC to include user-created maps, and to increase the diversity of maps in mobile environments. With the mobile application prototype Manpo, user experiments of creating geo-enabled hand-drawn maps have been conducted to college students who have little background knowledge of cartography. The results of the experiments have proved the functionality and usability of Manpo, but have also revealed that the users’ skills and experiences can strongly influence the quality of the content, especially the accuracy of positioning. Typical mistakes in map drawings and deployments of points of interest (POIs) are analyzed in details. The experiments have prompted improvements of the positioning methods, and raised future research issues including effective guidelines, user interfaces and assisted georeference editing for nonprofessional users. [Termes IGN] triangulation (topologie)Résumé : (auteur) Querying visible points is a fundamental problem in computational geometry and spatial databases. With the development of new applications such as trip planning and nearest neighbors, querying visible points plays a key role in obstacle space and the result can be further used such as defining the shortest path. Thereby, efficiently finding the result is essentially important. However, the performance of current methods decrease substantially for large datasets. To solve the problem, we proposes a new and fast algorithm to find visible points for an arbitrary query location inside a large polygon containing obstacles. The method is based on polygon triangulation. By decomposing the polygon into a set of triangles, we manage the polygon by organizing triangles in an efficient way instead of maintaining a large number of vertices. We propose a data structure to partition the searching space into several parts, each of which is independently processed. Afterwards, by recursively calling a method we search visible points by accessing triangles and return the result in a progressive way. Through a theoretical analysis, assuming the polygon contains N vertices in total, the time complexity of our algorithm is O(N), improving the existing method O(N l o g N). We prove the correctness of the algorithm and analyze the space complexity, which is O(N). The technique is extended to return visible points less than a threshold distance to the query location. Using both synthetic and real datasets, we perform extensive experiments to test our algorithm and demonstrate its efficiency and effectiveness. Visible points are efficiently processed in a large obstacle space with over one million vertices. Experimental results show that our technique gains more than one order of magnitude speedup compared to competitive methods using large datasets. [Termes IGN] visualisation simultanéeRésumé : (Auteur) Recently, points of interest (POIs) recommendation has evolved into a hot research topic with real-world applications. In this paper, we propose a novel semantics-enhanced density-based clustering algorithm SEM-DTBJ-Cluster, to extract semantic POIs from GPS trajectories. We then take into account three different factors (popularity, temporal and geographical features) that can influence the recommendation score of a POI. We characterize the impacts caused by popularity, temporal and geographical information, by using different scoring functions based on three developed recommendation models. Finally, we combine the three scoring functions together and obtain a unified framework PTG-Recommend for recommending candidate POIs for a mobile user. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first that considers popularity, temporal and geographical information together. Experimental results on two real-world data sets strongly demonstrate that our framework is robust and effective, and outperforms the baseline recommendation methods in terms of precision and recall. [Termes IGN] squelettisationRésumé : (Auteur) Crowdsourcing geospatial data mainly collected by public citizens have brought about a profound transformation on data acquisition and utilization. However, the unpredictable positional accuracies, unstructured semantic descriptions, and invalid spatial relations occur to crowdsourcing geospatial data, causing difficulties for conflating heterogeneous data sets collected by different professional agencies or volunteers. We thus propose a novel pattern-mining approach to conflate crowdsourcing road networks with points of interest (POIs) geometrically and semantically. The proposed method mines the geometric patterns between road networks and POIs respectively and generates the pattern-related skeleton graphs for them. Then, corresponding points are determined between the two skeleton graphs to align POIs and road networks geometrically, and the road-related semantic data between the associated POIs and the road segments are compared to check the data quality of POIs and infer the road names of the road segments. Experimental results show the advantages of our proposed method, demonstrating a functional and promising solution for enriching POIs and road network geometrically and semantically.
