[Termes IGN] vision monoculaireRésumé : (auteur) Most of the existing methods for 3D hand analysis based on RGB images mainly focus on estimating hand keypoints or poses, which cannot capture geometric details of the 3D hand shape. In this work, we propose a novel method to reconstruct a 3D hand mesh from a single monocular RGB image. Different from current parameter-based or pose-based methods, our proposed method directly estimates the 3D hand mesh based on graph convolution neural network (GCN). Our network consists of two modules: the hand localization and mask generation module, and the 3D hand mesh reconstruction module. The first module, which is a VGG16-based network, is applied to localize the hand region in the input image and generate the binary mask of the hand. The second module takes the high-order features from the first and uses a GCN-based network to estimate the coordinates of each vertex of the hand mesh and reconstruct the 3D hand shape. To achieve better accuracy, a novel loss based on the differential properties of the discrete mesh is proposed. We also use professional software to create a large synthetic dataset that contains both ground truth 3D hand meshes and poses for training. To handle the real-world data, we use the CycleGAN network to transform the data domain of real-world images to that of our synthesis dataset. We demonstrate that our method can produce accurate 3D hand mesh and achieve an efficient performance for real-time applications. Not all remaining architectural heritage can be physically preserved. War, climate change and rapidly growing cities have caused damage and degradation to valuable historical buildings. In order to preserve them virtually, various methods of 3D modelling have been employed. This paper presents information on how to create a full 3D inventory of a building’s exterior. This includes a 3D thermal model of the building, merging thermal camera data with a spatial model, which aids the reconstruction of previous stages of a building’s existence. The authors argue that in cases when it is impossible to force heat transfer from inside the structure (via man‐made heating), 24 hours of observations using only solar heating can be sufficient to find heat bridges and other thermal anomalies that can be used for virtual reconstruction. The traditional feature extraction method has slow speed and low efficiency and only achieves the boundary feature points. Hence, the point cloud feature regularization is proposed to obtain the boundary lines based on the fast extraction of feature points in this article. First, an improved $k$ - $d$ tree method is used to search the $k$ neighbors of sampling point. Then, the sampling point and its $k$ neighbors are used as the reference points set to fit a microcut plane and project to the plane. The local coordinate system is established on the microcut plane to convert 3-D into 2-D. The boundary feature points are identified by judging criterion of field force and then are sorted and connected according to the vector deflected angle and distance. Finally, the boundary lines are smoothed by the improved cubic B-spline fitting method. Experiments show that the proposed method can extract the boundary feature points quickly and efficiently, and the mean error of boundary lines is 0.0674 mm and the standard deviation is 0.0346 mm, which has high precision. This proposed method was also successfully applied to feature extraction and boundary fitting of Xinyi teaching building of the Wuhan University of Technology. [Termes IGN] reconstruction 3D du bâtiRésumé : (auteur) Building-information-modeling for cultural heritage (HBIM), which is established using surveying data, can be used to conserve architectural heritage. The development of an HBIM model for ancient wooden architecture (AWA) structures requires interdisciplinary integration. A parametric model for the main components that intelligently integrates the historical knowledge, as well as an intelligent modeling method for these components, are two critical issues required to bridge the existing gap and improve the application of HBIM. Taking an AWA structure constructed during the Liao and Song Dynasties as an example, the parametric model for the typical components, with emphasis on commonality and characteristics, were first proposed. Subsequently, an intelligent automated modeling method was developed and programmed using Dynamo, which can intelligently identify the component type and determine the invisible dimensions. A complicated dou-gong was successfully established with surveying data using the proposed method within five minutes, thereby validating the reliability and efficiency of this method. Furthermore, the proposed method was used to establish the HBIM model of Yingxian Wood Pagoda, which is the oldest and tallest AWA structure in China with a height of 65.88 m. The research findings will provide an essential reference for the conservation of wooden architectural heritage structures. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) As early as the fourth century BCE, the Nabateans established the Incense Road to facilitate the transport of aromatic substances (frankincense and myrrh) from the Arabian Peninsula to the Mediterranean basin. An important part of this road was the segment between Petra and Gaza. Although studied before, the accurate route of parts of this segment is still vague since evidence of Roman milestones are scarce and significant portions of the landscape have changed dramatically in modern times, essentially wiping out the tracks of ancient roads. In this study, we use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Least Cost Path (LCP) analyses for reconstructing the original path of the Incense Road as well as verifying the factors influencing its establishment. The implemented analyses support the archeological evidence of two travel phases between Petra and Oboda (Avdat): During the first phase the Nabateans used the Darb es-Sultan route; during the second phase, from the first century BCE onwards, they passed through the Ramon Crater. This is the first time such reconstruction is made in the southern Levant. It was found that slope degree and the distance to water resources are dominant factors in reconstructing the accurate path of the Incense Road.
