[Termes IGN] surveillanceRésumé : (auteur) This dissertation investigates the problem of localising multiple persons in image sequences, while, at the same time, establishing temporal correspondences between single-frame locations. The aim of this work is the improvement of the reliability and precision of the generated trajectories, which is addressed by the formulation and investigation of a joint probabilistic model for the recursive filtering of the estimated positions. The trajectories are estimated in a common 3D object coordinate system, which was previously almost exclusively done in 2D. Note de contenu : 1. Introduction

[Termes IGN] séquence d'imagesRésumé : (auteur) Image sequences, in particular digital video sequences, are characterised by the features which result in their high potential as measurement data. However, as early as at the stage of visual assessment of digital film images, originating, in particular, from amateur cameras, occurrence of some deformations may be observed, which may highly influence the results of measurements performed using these images; such deformations differ from deformations occurred in the case of static photographic images. It results both, by the method of image recording, using an electronic shutter and interlaced or progressive scanning, as well as the method of file recording and compression. It is worth to notice the systematic nature of such deformations, which highly depend on mutual motions of a camera and recorded objects. The objective of presented research works was to develop the mathematical description of image deformations, as a function of motion parameters. This would allow for adaptation of the camera calibration process to the demands of sequential imaging, as well as for modification of algorithms of measurements using self-calibration, and, as a result, minimisation of deformations. Another objective was to analyse the influence of deformations, typical for digital film images, on the results of measurements performed using these images, by means of series of experiments, which were based on multiple calibration of static and a moving camera, also with the use of a spatial test field. The first part was made by developing formulas based on some geometric relations, using some simplifications. On the stage of experimental research a certain degree of compatibility of experimental results and theoretical assumptions were confirmed. [Termes IGN] séquence d'imagesRésumé : (auteur) The purpose of this work is to detect strong changes in spatial relationships between objects in video sequences, with a limited knowledge on the objects. First, a fuzzy representation of the objects is proposed based on low-level generic primitives. Furthermore, angle and distance histograms are used as examples to model the spatial relationships between two objects. Then, we estimate the distances between different angle or distance histograms during time. By analyzing the evolution of the spatial relationships during time, ruptures are detected in this evolution. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently detect the ruptures in the spatial relationships, exploiting only low-level primitives. This constitutes a promising step towards event detection in videos, with few a priori models on the objects. [Termes IGN] transformation de HoughRésumé : (Auteur) Land-based mobile mapping system (MMS) technology provides an innovative way to update geospatial information, characterised by rapid data collection and direct georeferencing. This paper presents a new method for automatically updating large scale maps using sequential MMS imagery. A major component of the technique is the extraction of vertical lines from such imagery through an improved Hough transform and vanishing point classification. These lines are stereomatched using an epipolar constraint and random sample consensus (RANSAC) strategy, with object space positions obtained by photogrammetric intersection. Buildings are recognised based on these vertical lines in conjunction with basic polygon templates, allowing maps to be updated.
