[Termes IGN] système de référence mondialRésumé : (Auteur) For many Earth science applications, geodesy has the potential to provide a Terrestrial Reference Frame (TRF) to which are related valuable observations of parameters that govern the Earth system. In this paper, we review the current status of space geodesy techniques in terms of TRF implementation, focussing on technique specific strengths and limitations. Based on available time series of station positions and Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP) provided by the different techniques, we examine individual TRF long-term stabilities and their combination over the frame parameters (origin, scale and orientation) as well as the attached EOP’s. In order to achieve the “best” TRF establishment, the impact and proper handling of station specific behavior such as non-linear motion and/or seasonal variation will be emphasized. Results of these analysis will be used to help drawing up goals and improvements for the future release of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame. [Termes IGN] station permanenteRésumé : (Auteur) SAPOS is a joined project of the Working Committee of the Surveying Authorities of the States of the Federal Republic of Germany (AdV) and consists of a network of more than 250 permanently observing reference stations with national expanse that ensure the current accurate spatial reference based on the Europe-wide standardized reference system ETRS89. Within differential GPS measurements, users will be provided with SAPOS data on different accuracy levels in order to increase the position accuracy up to the centimeter and even millimeter range. [Termes IGN] TeriaRésumé : (Auteur) The French Order of Chartered Surveyors (Ordre des Géomètres Experts) has itself the objective of setting up a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network over the national territory by the end of 2005. This network will be integrated with satellite geo-referencing and will allow any user to position himself in real time with an accuracy down to the inch, anywhere within the territory, at any time. Already 500 chartered surveyors, one third of the profession, are supporting the rollout of the network, the most substantial ever carried out in the world at a single time. This paper explains why such a project has been launched, who are involved and the issues that needed to be considered.
