[Termes IGN] superposition de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) The problem of registering nonrigid point sets, with the aim of estimating the correspondences and learning the transformation between two given sets of points, often arises in computer vision tasks. This paper proposes a novel method for performing nonrigid point set registration on data with various types of degradation, in which the registration problem is formulated as a Gaussian mixture model (GMM)-based density estimation problem. Specifically, two complementary constraints are jointly considered for optimization in a GMM probabilistic framework. The first is a thin-plate spline-based regularization constraint that maintains global spatial motion consistency, and the second is a spectral graph-based regularization constraint that preserves the intrinsic structure of a point set. Moreover, the correspondences and the transformation are alternately optimized using the expectation maximization algorithm to obtain a closed-form solution. We first utilize local descriptors to construct the initial correspondences and then estimate the underlying transformation under the GMM-based framework. Experimental results on contour images and real images show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method. [Termes IGN] superposition de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) Combining image and LiDAR draws increasing interest in surface reconstruction, city and building modeling for constructing 3D virtual reality models because of their complementary nature. However, to gain from this complementarity, these data sources must be precisely registered. In this paper, we propose a new primitive based registration algorithm that takes 3D segments as features. The objective of the proposed algorithm is to register heterogeneous data. The heterogeneity is both in data type (image and LiDAR) and acquisition platform (terrestrial and aerial). Our algorithm starts by extracting 3D segments from LiDAR and image data with state of the art algorithms. Then it clusters the 3D segments of each data according to their directions. The obtained clusters are associated to find possible rotations, then 3D segments from associated clusters are matched in order to find the translation and scale factor minimizing a distance criteria between the two sets of 3D segments. Two optimizers (simulated annealing and RANSAC) are tested to minimize this distance criterion, first on synthetic data, then on real data. The experiments carried out demonstrate the robustness and speed of RANSAC compared to simulated annealing. [Termes IGN] superposition de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) Indoor/Outdoor modeling of buildings is an important issue in the field of building life cycle management. It is seen as a joint process where the two aspects collaborate to take advantage of their semantic and geometric complementary. This global approach will allow a more complete, correct, precise and coherent reconstruction of the buildings. The first issue of such modeling is thus to precisely register this data. The lack of overlap between indoor and outdoor data is the most encountered obstacle, more so when both data sets are acquired separately and using different types of sensors. As an opening in the façade is the unique common entity that can be seen from inside and outside, it can help the registration of indoor and outdoor point clouds. So it must be automatically, accurately and efficiently extracted. In this paper, we start by proposing a very efficient algorithm to detect openings with great precision in both indoor and outdoor scans. Afterwards, we integrate them in a registration framework. As an opening is defined by a rectangular shape composed of four segments, two horizontal and two vertical, we can write our registration problem as a minimization of a global robust distance between two segment sets and propose a robust approach to minimize this distance using the RANSAC paradigm. [Termes IGN] SURF (algorithme)Résumé : (Auteur) To register mobile mapping system (MMS) lidar points and panoramic-image sequences, a relative orientation model of panoramic images (PROM) is proposed. The PROM is suitable for cases in which attitude or orientation parameters are unknown in the panoramic-image sequence. First, feature points are extracted and matched from panoramic-image pairs using the SURF algorithm. Second, these matched feature points are used to solve the relative attitude parameters in the PROM. Then, combining the PROM with the absolute position and attitude parameters of the initial panoramic image, the MMS lidar points and panoramic-image sequence are registered. Finally, the registration accuracy of the PROM method is assessed using corresponding points manually selected from the MMS lidar points and panoramic-image sequence. The results show that three types of MMS data sources are registered accurately based on the proposed registration method. Our method transforms the registration of panoramic images and lidar points into image feature-point matching, which is suitable for diverse road scenes compared with existing methods. [Termes IGN] vingtième siècleRésumé : (auteur) Burgos, in Spain, due to its geographical and historical importance, which made it a politically, militarily, and administratively key city in the configuration of Spain throughout the history of the country, has a large amount of cartographic documentation. Therefore, it has been necessary to carry out different phases of work to collect and analyze the cartographic material available, as well as to specify the maps and plans that would be used to convey and structure the cartography of Burgos during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. However, we must take into account in any study that, despite advances in technology, including machines used to digitize these artifacts, there remains a degree of error, so the display of the map that the researcher observes is not as reliable as it should be. Taking into account the hypothetical character of the accuracy of the maps collected and used in this study, and in order to achieve its goals, a thematic analysis through selection, geolocation, and comparison with the current city map based on different criteria is proposed. Thanks to the rich material, this case can be extrapolated to other cities in the country and the process of making up a map during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries can be known in a deeper way.
