[Termes IGN] morphologieRésumé : (auteur) Gully is a type of young geological feature on the Martian surface, and the study of gullies can significantly contribute to understanding of the geologic history of Martian surface. As a large amount of high-resolution orbital images have been acquired, manual identification and extraction of all gullies is tedious and prohibitively time consuming. Therefore, it is desirable to develop automated methods for detection of Martian gullies to support scientific studies of the gullies. This paper presents an automated gully detection method based on mathematical morphology techniques. The method integrates a series of morphological operators, including area opening and closing, Bottom-Hat transformation, and path opening. Experimental results using HiRISE images at six sites demonstrate promising performance with detection percentage from 76 percent to 94 percent Numéro de notice : A2015-991 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.14358/PERS.81.12.913 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.14358/PERS.81.12.913 Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=80272

[Termes IGN] traitement de données localiséesRésumé : (auteur) Turn restrictions, such as ‘no left turn’ or ‘no U-turn’, are commonly encountered in real road networks. These turn restrictions must be explicitly considered in the shortest path problem and ignoring them may lead to infeasible paths. In the present study, a hybrid link-node Dijkstra's (HLND) algorithm is proposed to exactly solve the shortest path problem in road networks with turn restrictions. A new hybrid link–node labelling approach is devised by using a link–based labelling strategy at restricted nodes with turn restrictions, and a node-based labelling strategy at unrestricted nodes without turn restrictions. Computational results for several real road networks show that the proposed HLND algorithm obtains the same optimal results as the link-based Dijkstra's algorithm, while having a similar computational performance to the classical node-based Dijkstra's algorithm. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) The dynamics of urban activities in Jerusalem were studied by analyzing a large-scale semantically rich movement dataset. The semantic enrichment process was based on coupling movement trajectories sampled by GPS loggers with contextual data derived from trajectory-based digital activity dairies. Although the utility of such procedures in generating trajectory-specific semantic data was noted before, their application stays limited. In this paper, we promote the utilization of these procedures by demonstrating that they are not only feasible but also important for mobility studies. We discuss the characteristics of the semantic enrichment process and the manner by which it was applied within the large-scale analysis of urban dynamics. This application uncovered a time- and context-dependent array of centers in Jerusalem, resulting in a semantically rich characterization of urban dynamics. Such characterization provides otherwise unobtainable insights crucial for urban analysis. Wider implications for movement studies may be derived, as this application demonstrates how diary-based enrichment approaches hold the potential to advance bridging the semantic gap in mobility research. [Termes IGN] trafic routierRésumé : (Auteur) This paper proposes a technique for improving the accuracy of mobile device movement trajectory reconstruction using passive mobile positioning data. The major sources of uncertainty in trajectory reconstruction are imprecise cell shape data and ‘ping-pong’ effects caused by cell handovers. We used a novel technique for improved ‘ping-pong’ effect suppression by compensating for some cell shape distortions based on temporal cell-to-cell transit statistics. The results were evaluated by estimating traffic flow using trajectory reconstruction. The proposed technique improved the accuracy of results compared to ‘ping-pong’ suppression algorithms found in the literature.
