[Termes IGN] trafic routierRésumé : (Auteur) Road extraction and vehicle detection are two of the most important steps of traffic flow analysis from multi-frame aerial photographs. The traditional way of deriving traffic flow trajectories relies on manual vehicle counting from a sequence of aerial photographs. It is tedious and time-consuming work. To improve this process, this research presents a new semi-automatic framework for highway extraction and vehicle detection from aerial photographs. The basis of the new framework is a geometric deformable model. This model refers to the minimization of an objective function that connects the optimization problem with the propagation of regular curves. Utilizing implicit representation of two-dimensional curve, the implementation of this model is capable of dealing with topological changes during curve deformation process and the output is independent of the position of the initial curves. A seed point propagation framework is designed and implemented. This framework incorporates highway extraction, tracking, and linking into one procedure. Manually selected seed points can be automatically propagated throughout a whole highway network. During the process, road center points are also extracted, which introduces a search direction for solving possible blocking problems. This new framework has been successfully applied to highway network extraction and vehicle detection from a large orthophoto mosaic. In this research, vehicles on the extracted highway network were detected with an 83% success rate. [Termes IGN] test statistiqueRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a method for anomaly detection in hyperspectral images based on the support vector data description (SVDD), a kernel method for modeling the support of a distribution. Conventional anomaly-detection algorithms are based upon the popular Reed-Xiaoli detector. However, these algorithms typically suffer from large numbers of false alarms due to the assumptions that the local background is Gaussian and homogeneous. In practice, these assumptions are often violated, especially when the neighborhood of a pixel contains multiple types of terrain. To remove these assumptions, a novel anomaly detector that incorporates a nonparametric background model based on the SVDD is derived. Expanding on prior SVDD work, a geometric interpretation of the SVDD is used to propose a decision rule that utilizes a new test statistic and shares some of the properties of constant false-alarm rate detectors. Using receiver operating characteristic curves, the authors report results that demonstrate the improved performance and reduction in the false-alarm rate when using the SVDD-based detector on wide-area airborne mine detection (WAAMD) and hyperspectral digital imagery collection experiment (HYDICE) imagery. [Termes IGN] web sémantiqueRésumé : (auteur) Numerous software resources are available within IGN, the French National Mapping Agency, to manipulate geographical data. These are commercial off-the-shelves software or ad hoc tools developed within IGN. Sharing these resources and information about them is necessary but is still too difficult. This paper presents our approach to catalogue resources available within IGN to manipulate geodata. We extend upon OWL-S metadata model for Web Services to propose a metadata model that describes services provided by any software resource that is not a Web Service. A crucial aspect of this extension is the modification of the metadata entity called ‘grounding’. The grounding of a service in OWLS is mostly the description of the sequence of XML messages that must be send to or received from the Web Service URL to achieve this service. In our context, a service ‘grounding’ is described as a sequence of more generic steps. Besides, it is necessary to adapt a grounding description to the user context.
