[Termes IGN] polarimétrie radarRésumé : (auteur) This article proposes a coniferous and broad-leaved forest distinguishing method using L-band polarimetric SAR data based on the structure-orientation parameter. The structure-orientation parameter is one of the averaged Stokes vector-based discriminators which is sensitive to the composition of equivalent horizontal and vertical structures. In the proposed method, the structure-orientation parameters is compensated by employing the scattered power information to remove the influence of the topography. The final distinguishing result is generated based on the statistical feature of the compensated parameters. The experiments using several sets of ALOS2-PALSAR2 level 1.1 data prove that the proposed method has high performance for forest-type distinguishing. [Termes IGN] véhiculeRésumé : (auteur) Vehicle detection in aerial images is a challenging task. The complexity of the background information and the redundancy of the detection area are the main obstacles that limit the successful operation of vehicle detection based on anchors in very-high-resolution (VHR) remote sensing images. In this paper, an anchor-free target detection method is proposed to solve the problems above. First, a multi-attention feature pyramid network (MA-FPN) was designed to address the influence of noise and background information on vehicle target detection by fusing attention information in the feature pyramid network (FPN) structure. Second, a more precise foveal area (MPFA) is proposed to provide better ground truth for the anchor-free method by determining a more accurate positive sample selection area. The proposed anchor-free model with MA-FPN and MPFA can predict vehicles accurately and quickly in VHR remote sensing images through direct regression and predict the pixels in the feature map. A detailed evaluation based on remote sensing image (RSI) and vehicle detection in aerial imagery (VEDAI) data sets for vehicle detection shows that our detection method performs well, the network is simple, and the detection is fast. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (auteur) Many location-based social networks (LBSNs) applications such as customized Point-Of-Interest (POI) recommendation, preference-based trip planning, travel time estimation, etc., involve an important task of understanding human trajectory patterns. In particular, identifying and linking trajectories to users who generate them – a problem called Trajectory-User Linking (TUL) – has become a focus of many recent works. TUL is usually studied as a multi-class classification problem and has gained recent attention because: (1) the number of labels/classes (i.e., users) is way larger than the number of motion patterns among various trajectories; and (2) the location-based trajectory data, especially the check-ins – i.e., events of reporting a location at particular Point of Interest (POI) with known semantics – are often extremely sparse. Towards addressing these challenges, we introduce a Trajectory Generative Adversarial Network (TGAN) as an approach to enable learning users motion patterns and location distribution, and to eventually identify human mobility. TGAN consists of two jointly trained neural networks, playing a Minimax game to (iteratively) optimize both components. The first one is the generator, learning trajectory representation by a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) based model, aiming at fitting the underlying trajectory distribution of a particular individual and generate synthetic trajectories with intrinsic invariance and global coherence. The second one is the discriminator – a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based model that discriminates the generated trajectory from the real ones and provides guidance to train the generator model. We demonstrate that the above two models can be well tuned together to improve the TUL performance, while achieving superior accuracy when compared to existing approaches. [Termes IGN] rapport signal sur bruitRésumé : (auteur) Wealthy spectral information provided by hyperspectral image (HSI) offers great benefits for many applications in hyperspectral data exploitation. However, processing such high-dimensional data volumes that may result in redundant bands due to its high interband correlation will be a challenge. For target detection and classification, this is particularly true since there may only need a relatively small number of bands that respond one particular target of interest well, while most of other bands do not. Band selection (BS) is a major dimensionality reduction technique to remove the redundant bands and selects a few bands to represent the entire image. However, how to eliminate the effect of uninteresting targets with similar spectra on detection of interesting targets is a severe issue arising in target detection for BS. This article develops a new approach called target-constrained interference-minimized BS (TCIMBS) which can be used to select band subset for specific target detection, while annihilating targets of no interest and suppressing interferers and background. Its idea is derived from target-constrained interference-minimized filter (TCIMF). By taking advantage of TCIMF, two band prioritization (BP) criteria called forward minimum variance BP (FMinV-BP) and backward maximum variance BP (BMaxV-BP) along with their three band search-based BS counterparts called sequential forward TCIMBS (SF-TCIMBS), sequential backward TCIMBS (SB-TCIMBS), and improved SB-TCIMBS (SB-TCIMBS*) are derived. The experimental results suggest that TCIMBS can improve the detection accuracy and also achieve better performance in comparison with several state-of-the-art methods. Mobility research that applies trajectory mining techniques to identify the transportation modes of these movements can inform urban transportation planning. Herein, we propose a five-step approach with information entropy and a multi-layer neural network to identify transportation modes from trajectory data. First, this approach extracts the motion features at each time-stamped location based on foundation geospatial data and spatiotemporal trajectory data, including the speed, acceleration, change of direction, rate of change in direction, and distance from each basic transportation facility. The second step uses information entropy to identify the features that play key roles in identifying transportation modes. The third step weighs each attribute in the feature vector consisting of the selected features and normalizes it to prepare it as input data. The fourth step constructs, trains, and tests a multi-layer neural network with seven-fold cross-validation. The final step includes a post-processing method to optimize the identification result. We use F-measure metric to evaluate the performance. Experimental results on a real trajectory dataset show that the proposed approach can identify the transportation mode at each time-stamped location and outperforms existing transportation-mode identification methods in terms of accuracy and stability.
