[Termes IGN] transformation IWSTRésumé : (auteur) The paper analyses the possibility of increasing efficiency of the Iterative Weighted Similarity Transformation (IWST) method, which is a prototype of classic robust methods, using global optimisation approach instead of classical one, available in the literature. For the purpose of solving the optimisation problem of the IWST method, in addition to the Iterative Reweighted Least Squares (IRLS) method, the Genetic algorithm (GA) and Generalised Particle Swarm Optimisation (GPSO) algorithm were applied, in order to overcome some flaws of IRLS method. Experimental research was performed based on the Monte Carlo simulation using the mean success rate (MSR) on the example of the geodetic control network for monitoring the Šelevrenac dam in the Republic of Serbia. By using the GA and GPSO algorithms, the overall efficiency of the IWST method has been increased by about 18% compared to the IRLS method. Also, it has been determined that the efficiency of the IRLS method significantly reduces with the increase in the number of displaced potential reference points (PRPs), while the GA and GPSO algorithms’ efficiency does not change significantly. The values of overall absolute true errors due to the increased number of displaced PRPs in the GA and GPSO algorithms did not change notably while with the IRLS method their values increased significantly. In order to determine the displacements, a geodetic network consisting of twelve reference and seven object points was measured in four periods by means of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) data. The θ2-Criteria method was used to determine the extent of the deformation. The deformation analysis results based on the GNSS measurements revealed significant horizontal and vertical displacements on the object points on the dam crest. Hence, the vertical displacements found based on the GNSS measurements can be considered erroneous, because they are greater than expected. This may be due to the narrow topography of the valley. Another conclusion drawn from the results is that there is a strong relationship between the change in the reservoir water level and horizontal deformations, as can be seen from the horizontal deformation vectors. [Termes IGN] transformation IWSTRésumé : (Auteur) Kalman filtering is a multiple-input, multiple-output filter that can optimally estimate the states of a system, and applicable for deformation analysis. The states are all the variables needed to completely describe the system behavior of the deformation process as a function of time (such as position, velocity etc.). The standard Kalman filter estimates the state vector where the measuring process is described by a linear system. In order to process a non-linear system an optimized aspect of Kalman filter is required. The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the optimized Kalman filter (OKF) as a non-robust method versus the iterative weighted similarity transformation (IWST) as a rigorous (also called robust) method. To satisfy this objective, first a detailed description on executing the optimized Kalman filter using the observation of angles and distances directly is provided. Then, 2-D total station data observations comprising distances and angles are used to demonstrate the OKF. For detecting the deformation, a real point-related test (single point test) is applied for every point as a local test. Consequently, the findings from OKF are compared and evaluated against the results from the IWST method. In general, the outcome of the Kalman filter algorithm is close to the preliminary results from the IWST method. The maximum and minimum differences in computed displacements are 0.2 and 2 millimeters respectively. Finally, Kalman filter approaches, having some properties, are recognized as suitable techniques for deformation analysis.
