[Termes IGN] visualisation de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Automated 3-dimensional modeling pipelines include 3D scanning, registration, data abstraction, and visualization. All steps in such a pipeline require the processing of a massive amount of 3D data, due to the ability of current 3D scanners to sample environments with a high density. The increasing sampling rates make it easy to acquire billions of spatial data points. This paper presents algorithms and data structures for handling these data. We propose an efficient octree to store and compress 3D data without loss of precision. We demonstrate its usage for an exchange file format, fast point cloud visualization, sped-up 3D scan matching, and shape detection algorithms. We evaluate our approach using typical terrestrial laser scans. [Termes IGN] visualisation de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Development in techniques of spatial data acquisition enables us to easily record the trajectories of moving objects. Movement of human beings, animals, and birds can be captured by GPS loggers. The obtained data are analyzed by visualization, clustering, and classification to detect patterns frequently or rarely found in trajectories. To extract a wider variety of patterns in analysis, this article proposes a new method for analyzing trajectories on a network space. The method first extracts primary routes as subparts of trajectories. The topological relations among primary routes and trajectories are visualized as both a map and a graph-based diagram. They permit us to understand the spatial and topological relations among the primary routes and trajectories at both global and local scales. The graph-based diagram also permits us to classify trajectories. The representativeness of primary routes is evaluated by two numerical measures. The method is applied to the analysis of daily travel behavior of one of the authors. Technical soundness of the method is discussed as well as empirical findings. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) We present an algorithm for schematized focus maps. Focus maps integrate a high detailed, enlarged focus region continuously in a given base map. Recent methods integrate both with such low distortion that the focus region becomes hard to identify. We combine focus maps with partial schematization to display distortion of the context and to emphasize the focus region. Schematization visually conveys geographical accuracy, while not increasing map complexity. We extend the focus-map algorithm to incorporate geometric proximity relationships and show how to combine focus maps with schematization in order to cater to different use cases.
