[Termes descripteurs IGN] temps de convergenceRésumé : (Auteur) New GNSS signals have significantly augmented positioning service and promoted algorithmic innovations such as rapid PPP convergence. With the emerging of multifrequency signals, it becomes essential to thoroughly explore the contribution of third frequency pseudorange and carrier phase toward PPP. In this study, we research the role of the third frequency observations on accelerating PPP convergence, commencing from both stochastic and functional models. We first constructed the stochastic model depending on the observation noise and then introduced two uncombined functional models with respect to different inter-frequency bias (IFB) estimation strategies. The double-differenced residuals based on a zero baseline were used to evaluate the signal noises, which were 0.09, 0.07, 0.11, 0.01 and 0.09 m for Galileo E1/E5a/E5b/E5/E6 pseudorange and 0.24, 0.31 and 0.05 m for BeiDou B1/B2/B3. Besides, carrier phase observations E5a/E5/E6/B1I/B3I shared a comparable signal noise of 0.002 m, while the signal noises of E1/E5b/B2I were 0.003 m. Both BeiDou-2/Galileo and Galileo-only float PPP were implemented based on the dataset collected from 25 stations, spanning 30 days. Triple-frequency Galileo PPP achieved convergence successfully in 19.9 min if observations were weighted according to observation precision, showing a comparable performance of dual-frequency PPP. Meanwhile, the convergence time of triple-frequency float PPP was further shortened to 19.2 min when satellite pair IFBs were eliminated by estimating a second satellite clock. While the improvement of triple-frequency float PPP was marginal, triple-frequency PPP-AR using signals E1/E5a/E6 shortened the initialization time of the dual-frequency counterpart by 38%. Moreover, the performance of triple-frequency PPP-AR kept almost unchanged after we excluded the third frequency pseudorange observations. We thus suggest that the contribution of the third frequency to PPP mainly rests on ambiguity resolution, favored by the additional carrier phase observations. [Termes descripteurs IGN] triple différenceRésumé : (auteur) Along with the rapid development of GNSS, not only BeiDou, but also Galileo, and the newly launched GPS satellites can provide signals on three frequencies at present. To fully take advantage of the multi-frequency multi-system GNSS observations on precise point positioning (PPP) technology, this study aims to implement the triple-frequency ambiguity resolution (AR) for GPS, Galileo, and BeiDou-2 combined PPP using the raw observation model. The processing of inter-frequency clock bias (IFCB) estimation and correction in the context of triple-frequency PPP AR has been addressed, with which the triple-frequency uncalibrated phase delay (UPD) estimation is realized for real GPS observations for the first time. In addition, the GPS extra-wide-line UPD quality is significantly improved with the IFCB correction. Because of not being contaminated by the IFCB, the raw UPD estimation method is directly employed for Galileo which currently has 24 satellites in operation. An interesting phenomenon is found that all Galileo satellites except E24 have a zero extra-wide-lane UPD value. With the multi-GNSS observations provided by MGEX covering 15 days, the positioning solutions of GPS + Galileo + BeiDou triple-frequency PPP AR have been conducted and analyzed. The triple-frequency kinematic GNSS PPP AR can achieve an averaged 3D positioning error of 2.2 cm, and an averaged convergence time of 10.8 min. The average convergence time can be reduced by triple-frequency GNSS PPP AR by 15.6% compared with dual-frequency GNSS PPP AR, respectively. However, the additional third frequency has only a marginal contribution to positioning accuracy after convergence. [Termes descripteurs IGN] temps réelRésumé : (auteur) The heavy reliance of real-time precise point positioning (RTPPP) on external satellite clock products may lead to discontinuity or even failure in time-critical applications. We present an alternative approach of real-time undifferenced precise positioning (RUP) that, by combining satellite clock estimation and precise point positioning based on the extended Kalman filter, is independent of external satellite clock corrections. The approach is evaluated in simulated real time with the assistance of a variable number of IGS multi-GNSS stations located between 1359.7 and 4852.5 km from the users. The results show that even with a single auxiliary IGS station, RUP is still feasible and able to retain centimeter-level positioning accuracy. Typically, with three auxiliary IGS stations about 2000–3000 km away, an accuracy of about 2 cm in the horizontal and 5 cm in the vertical can be achieved. The performance of RUP is comparable to that of PPP using 5-s satellite clock products and notably exhibits superior short-term precision in dealing with high-rate (1 Hz) GPS/GLONASS observations. The addition of GLONASS observations reduces the convergence time by 56.9% and improves the 3-D position accuracy by 31.8% while increasing the processing latency by a factor of about 1.6. Employing three IGS stations over 2400 km away from the epicenter, RUP is applied for the rapid determination of coseismic displacements and waveforms for the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake, yielding highly consistent results compared to those obtained from post-processed PPP in the global reference frame. We also explore its potential in facilitating real-time online services in terms of real-time precise positioning, zenith tropospheric delay retrieving, and satellite clock estimation. [Termes descripteurs IGN] temps de convergenceRésumé : (Auteur) The performance of precise point positioning (PPP) strongly depends on the quality of satellite orbit and clock products. To give a full evaluation of PPP performance with the various publicly available precise satellite orbit and clock products, this contribution comprehensively investigates the positioning performance as well as tropospheric delay retrieval of GPS-, GLONASS-, and Galileo-only PPP with the precise products from eight International GNSS Service (IGS) (i.e., cod, emr, esa, gfz, grg, igs, jpl, and mit) and five multi-GNSS experiment (MGEX) analysis centers (ACs) (i.e., com, gbm, grm, jax, and wum) based on the observations of 90 MGEX tracking stations in a 1-month period (April 2019). The positioning performance in terms of convergence time and positioning accuracy is assessed by coordinate-static and coordinate-kinematic PPP modes, while the tropospheric delay estimation in terms of accuracy is evaluated by coordinate-fixed PPP mode. For GPS- and GLONASS-only PPP with different AC products, the positioning performances are comparable with each other except that with emr, jpl, mit, and jax products. Overall, the positioning performance with cod and com products provided by CODE ranks the first. For Galileo-only PPP, the grm product performs the best. For ZTD estimation, the accuracy derived from GPS-, GLONASS-, and Galileo-only solutions agrees well and the differences in accuracy among different AC products can be negligible. [Termes descripteurs IGN] teneur totale en électronsRésumé : (auteur) Long convergence time has limited the wide application of traditional precise point positioning (PPP) based on an ionosphere-free combination of dual-frequency observations. Different from the traditional PPP, the uncombined PPP method based on raw observations estimates ionospheric delays. When external ionospheric information is available, it can be applied as a constraint to help shorten the convergence time, as a result of the reduced correlation between the position and the ionospheric parameters. The receiver differential code biases (DCBs) will be a concern, however, when applying the external ionospheric information. For receiver DCBs, it is usually assumed that the biases can be absorbed by the receiver clock parameters. We have demonstrated that the receiver DCBs cannot be fully assimilated by one receiver code clock parameter because the receiver DCBs have different effects on the code and carrier phase measurements at any frequency. Additional parameters are necessary to model the receiver DCBs so that their effects on the positioning solution can be minimized. We developed an ionosphere-constrained PPP model to incorporate ionospheric total electron content (TEC) in the slant (STEC) and vertical (VTEC) when leveraging a regional network and global ionospheric maps (GIMs). Both static and kinematic experimental results show that the convergence time and the positioning accuracy can be improved significantly. Accuracies at the first epoch of 0.4 m for GIM constraints, and 0.2 m for the regional constraints, are achievable. The convergence time to 1 dm horizontal accuracy is reduced to 7.5 min at a 68% confidence level.
