For synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, inherent speckle noise of the images can lead to false changed points, which affects the change detection performance. Besides, the supervised classifier in change detection framework requires numerous training samples, which are generally obtained by manual labeling. In this paper, a novel unsupervised method named saliency-guided deep neural networks (SGDNNs) is proposed for SAR image change detection. In the proposed method, to weaken the influence of speckle noise, a salient region that probably belongs to the changed object is extracted from the difference image. To obtain pseudotraining samples automatically, hierarchical fuzzy C-means (HFCM) clustering is developed to select samples with higher probabilities to be changed and unchanged. Moreover, to enhance the discrimination of sample features, DNNs based on the nonnegative- and Fisher-constrained autoencoder are applied for final detection. Experimental results on five real SAR data sets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Unfortunately, this idea is not fully utilized in vehicle detection from high-resolution aerial images, and most of the existing methods may be promoted by considering the variability of vehicle spatial distribution in different image scenes and treating vehicle detection tasks scene-specific. With this motivation, a scene context-driven vehicle detection method is proposed in this paper. At first, we perform scene classification using the deep learning method and, then, detect vehicles in roads and parking lots separately through different vehicle detectors. Afterward, we further optimize the detection results using different postprocessing rules according to different scene types. Experimental results show that the proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms in terms of higher detection accuracy rate and lower false alarm rate. The research is based on OBIA being developed on to bi-temporal summer and winter Sentinel-2 imagery. Fuzzy rules, which are based on topographic factors, such as terrain elevation and slope for the distribution of each tree species, derived from expert knowledge and field observations, were used to improve the accuracy of tree species classification. Finally, Simpson’s diversity index for forest tree species, was calculated and mapped, constituting a relative indicator for biodiversity for forest ecosystem organisms (fungi, insects, birds, reptiles, mammals) and carrying implications for the identification of patches prone to disturbance or that should be prioritized for conservation. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) High-spectral-resolution hyperspectral data are acquired by sensors that gather images from hundreds of narrow and contiguous bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. These data offer unique opportunities for characterization and precise land surface recognition in urban areas. So far, few studies have been conducted with these data to automatically detect and estimate areas of photovoltaic panels, which currently constitute an important part of renewable energy systems in urban areas of developed countries. In this paper, two hyperspectral-unmixing-based methods are proposed to detect and to estimate surfaces of photovoltaic panels. These approaches, related to linear spectral unmixing (LSU) techniques, are based on new nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) algorithms that exploit known panel spectra, which makes them partial NMF methods. The first approach, called Grd-Part-NMF, is a gradient-based method, whereas the second one, called Multi-Part-NMF, uses multiplicative update rules. To evaluate the performance of these approaches, experiments are conducted on realistic synthetic and real airborne hyperspectral data acquired over an urban region. For the synthetic data, obtained results show that the proposed methods yield much better overall performance than NMF-unmixing-based methods from the literature. For the real data, the obtained detection and area estimation results are first confirmed by using very high-spatial-resolution ortho-images of the same regions. These results are also compared with those obtained by standard NMF-unmixing-based methods and by a one-class-classification-based approach. This comparison shows that the proposed approaches are superior to those considered from the literature. [Termes IGN] SlovénieRésumé : (Auteur) Exact data about the location and area of vacant building land have been a major issue in several Slovene municipalities. This article deals with automatic vacant building land delineation. The presented methodology is based on the object-based classification that derives the land cover layer from orthophoto and laser scanning data. With post-processing and data cleaning in GIS, we create the vacant building land layer. The methodology was tested in study areas in the Municipality of Trebnje. The results were compared to the vacant building land layer generated by visual interpretation (manual vectorisation). We found that the presented methodology of automatic delineation of vacant buildings can speed up the processing and lower the cost of manual vectorisation and, in particular, data updating but we cannot completely replace manual work.
