[Termes IGN] reconstruction 3D du bâtiRésumé : (auteur) This chapter considers applications that aims to recognize shapes starting from a dictionary or a library. The chapter describes a model that represents waveforms acquired with LIDAR systems using a sum of parametric functions where the most suited function is chosen, from a given library, for each mode of the LIDAR waveform. It proposes a method based on marked point processes that is detailed in [MAL 10]. The chapter presents an algorithm for reconstructing buildings in 3D. [Termes IGN] scèneRésumé : (auteur) This article presents , an image content representation describing the spatial layout with triangular relationships of visual entities, which can be symbolic objects or low-level visual features. A semi-local implementation of is also proposed, making the description robust to viewpoint changes. We evaluate for image retrieval under the query-by-example paradigm, on contents represented with interest points in a bag-of-features model: it improves state-of-the-art techniques, in terms of retrieval quality as well as of execution time, and is scalable. Finally, its effectiveness is evaluated on a topical scenario dedicated to scene retrieval in datasets of city landmarks. [Termes IGN] processus ponctuel marquéRésumé : (auteur) This paper presents a new stochastic marked point process for describing images in terms of a finite library of geometric objects. Image analysis based on conventional marked point processes has already produced convincing results but at the expense of parameter tuning, computing time, and model specificity. Our more general multimarked point process has simpler parametric setting, yields notably shorter computing times, and can be applied to a variety of applications. Both linear and areal primitives extracted from a library of geometric objects are matched to a given image using a probabilistic Gibbs model, and a Jump-Diffusion process is performed to search for the optimal object configuration. Experiments with remotely sensed images and natural textures show that the proposed approach has good potential. We conclude with a discussion about the insertion of more complex object interactions in the model by studying the compromise between model complexity and efficiency. [Termes IGN] parcoursRésumé : (Auteur) The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for natural resource applications has increased considerably in recent years due to their greater availability, the miniaturization of sensors, and the ability to deploy a UAV relatively quickly and repeatedly at low altitudes. We examine in this paper the potential of using a small UAV for rangeland inventory, assessment and monitoring. Imagery with a ground resolved distance of 8 cm was acquired over a 290 ha site in southwestern Idaho. We developed a semiautomated orthorectification procedure suitable for handling large numbers of small-footprint UAV images. The geometric accuracy of the orthorectified image mosaics ranged from 1.5 m to 2 m. We used object-based hierarchical image analysis to classify imagery of plots measured concurrently on the ground using standard rangeland monitoring procedures. Correlations between imageand ground-based estimates of percent cover resulted in r-squared values ranging from 0.86 to 0.98. Time estimates indicated a greater efficiency for the image-based method compared to ground measurements. The overall classification accuracies for the two image mosaics were 83 percent and 88 percent. Even under the current limitations of operating a UAV in the National Airspace, the results of this study show that UAVs can be used successfully to obtain imagery for rangeland monitoring, and that the remote sensing approach can either complement or replace some ground-based measurements. We discuss details of the UAV mission, image processing and analysis, and accuracy assessment.
