[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) Three-dimensional reconstruction from a single image has excellent future prospects. The use of neural networks for three-dimensional reconstruction has achieved remarkable results. Most of the current point-cloud-based three-dimensional reconstruction networks are trained using nonreal data sets and do not have good generalizability. Based on the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago ()data set of large-scale scenes, this article proposes a method for processing real data sets. The data set produced in this work can better train our network model and realize point cloud reconstruction based on a single picture of the real world. Finally, the constructed point cloud data correspond well to the corresponding three-dimensional shapes, and to a certain extent, the disadvantage of the uneven distribution of the point cloud data obtained by light detection and ranging scanning is overcome using the proposed method. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) The understanding of the Earth through global land monitoring from satellite images paves the way towards many applications including flight simulations, urban management and telecommunications. The twin satellites from the Sentinel-2 mission developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) provide 13 spectral bands with a high observation frequency worldwide. In this paper, we present a novel multi-temporal approach for land-cover classification of Sentinel-2 images whereby a time-series of images is classified using fully convolutional network U-Net models and then coupled by a developed probabilistic algorithm. The proposed pipeline further includes an automatic quality control and correction step whereby an external source can be introduced in order to validate and correct the deep learning classification. The final step consists of adjusting the combined predictions to the cloud-free mosaic built from Sentinel-2 L2A images in order for the classification to more closely match the reference mosaic image. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) VGI is an attractive source of data, but the quality assurance limits its usages. This study proposes a framework to estimate the quality of the VGI and to classify them based on the user’s need. For this purpose, a set of properties is defined to describe the data in various aspects. The principal component analysis (PCA) method is applied to reach a new set of uncorrelated indicators (UI). Volunteered data is classified based on the user’s need and takes a quality index (QI). UI and QI values are used to train the ANN. Finally, the trained ANN determines the output of the network in a way that returns QI using the UI as inputs. The proposed method was applied to estimate the quality classes of VGI in a part of an urban area. According to the results of the confusion matrix, the total accuracy of the proposed framework was 81.6%. [Termes IGN] tomographieRésumé : (auteur) Nowadays, the advantages of Digital Rock Physics (DRP) are well known and widely applied in comprehensive core analysis. It is also known that the quality of the 3D pore scale model drastically influences the results of rock properties simulation, which makes the preprocessing stage of DRP very important. In this work, we consider the application of Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for the preprocessing of CT images, specifically for denoising, in two setups - conventional fully-supervised learning and the self-supervised learning, when the only available data is the noisy images. To train CNNs in a supervised setup, we use images processed by a combination of bilateral and bandpass filters. We trained CNNs of the same architecture with different loss functions to find out how the choice of a loss function influences the model's performance. Some of the obtained CNNs yielded the highest quality in terms of full-reference and no-reference metrics and significant histogram effect (bimodal intensity distribution). Images denoised with these models were qualitatively and quantitatively better than the reference “ground truth” images used for training. We use the Deep Image Prior algorithm to train denoising models in a self-supervised setup. The obtained models are much better than ones obtained in fully-supervised setup, but are too slow, as they are optimization-based rather than feed-forward. Such an algorithm can be used in the dataset generation for feed-forward meta-models. These results could help to develop an AI-based instrument to build high-quality 3D segmented models of rocks for DRP applications. [Termes IGN] processeur graphiqueRésumé : (auteur) In the deep-learning community, new algorithms are published at a very fast pace. Therefore, solving an image classification problem for new datasets becomes a challenging task, as it requires to re-evaluate published algorithms and their different configurations in order to find a close to optimal classifier. To facilitate this process, before biasing our decision toward a class of neural networks or running an expensive search over the network space, we propose to estimate the classification difficulty of the dataset. Our method computes a single number that characterizes the dataset difficulty 97× faster than training state-of-the-art networks. The proposed method can be used in combination with network topology and hyper-parameter search optimizers to efficiently drive the search toward promising neural network configurations.
