[Termes descripteurs IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) The maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation model-based sub-pixel mapping (SPM) method is an alternative way to solve the ill-posed SPM problem. The MAP estimation model has been proven to be an effective SPM approach and has been extensively developed over the past few years, as a result of its effective regularization capability that comes from the spatial regularization model. However, various spatial regularization models do not always truly reflect the detailed spatial distribution in a real situation, and the over-smoothing effect of the spatial regularization model always tends to efface the detailed structural information. In this article, under the scenario of time-series observation by remote sensing imagery, the joint spectral–spatial–temporal MAP-based (SST_MAP) model for SPM is proposed. In SST_MAP, a newly developed temporal regularization model is added to the MAP model, based on the prerequisite for a temporally close fine image covering the same study region. This available fine image can provide the specific spatial structures most closely conforming to the ground truth for a more precise constraint, thereby reducing the over-smoothing effect. Furthermore, the three dimensions are mutually balanced and mutually constrained, to reach an equilibrium point and achieve restoration of both smooth areas for the homogeneous land-cover classes and a detailed structure for the heterogeneous land-cover classes. Four experiments were designed to validate the proposed SST_MAP: three synthetic-image experiments and one real-image experiment. The restoration results confirm the superiority of the proposed SST_MAP model. Notably, under the background of time-series observation, SST_MAP provides an alternative way of land-cover change detection (LCCD), achieving both detailed spatial-scale and high-frequency temporal LCCD observation for the study case of urbanization analysis within the city of Wuhan in China. Though costly, surveillance efforts are vital for disease control and prevention This paper describes an approach for strategically configuring targeted disease surveillance sites across a study area. The methodology combines risk index mapping and spatial optimization modelling. The risk index is used to identify demand for surveillance, and the maximum covering location problem is used to select a specified number of candidate surveillance sites that covers the maximum amount of risk. The approach is demonstrated using a case study where optimal locations for sentinel surveillance sites are selected for the purposes of detecting eastern equine encephalitis virus in a county in the state of Florida. Optimal sentinel sites were selected under a number of scenarios that modelled different target populations (horses or humans), coverage distances (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 km), and numbers of sites to select (1–12). Sentinel site selections for the horse and human models displayed different spatial patterns, with horse sites located largely in the west-central region and human ones in the north-central. Minor amounts of spatial overlap between the horse and human sites were observed, especially as coverage distances and numbers of sites were increased. Additionally, a near linear increase in risk coverage was observed as sites were incrementally added to the scenarios. This finding suggests that the number of sentinel sites within the ranges explored should be based on the maximum that can be funded, since they provide similar levels of benefit. Considering future land use scenarios that include depopulation is necessary to evaluate changes in ecosystem services that affect human well‐being and to facilitate comprehensive strategies for balancing rural and urban development. In this study, we applied a population‐projection‐assimilated predictive land use modeling (PPAP‐LM) approach, in which a spatially explicit population projection was incorporated as a predictor in a land use model. To analyze the effects of future population distributions on land use, we developed models for five land use types and generated projections for two scenarios (centralization and decentralization) under a shrinking population in Japan during 2015–2050. Our results suggested that population centralization promotes the compaction of built‐up areas and the expansion of forest and wastelands, while population decentralization contributes to the maintenance of a mixture of forest and cultivated land. As computing systems become increasingly diverse in hardware architectures, operating systems, screen sizes, human–computer interactions and network capabilities, effective simulation and visualization must become adaptive to a wide range of diverse devices. This paper focuses on the optimization of simulation and visualization analysis of the dam-failure flood spatiotemporal process for diverse computing systems. First, an adaptive browser/server architecture of the dam-failure simulation application was designed to fill the hardware performance and visualization context gap that exists within diverse computing systems. Second, a data flow and an optimization method for multilevel time-series flood data were given to provide more support to network simulation, visualization and analysis on diversified terminals. Finally, a user interaction friendly and plugin-free prototype system was developed. The experiment results demonstrate that the methods addressed in this paper can cope with the challenge in simulation, visualization and interaction of a dam-failure simulation application on diversified terminals. In particular, we address the problem of accurately estimating dimensions of rooms when measurements of the interior space have not been captured. Our approach focuses on learning the geometry, orientation and occurrence of rooms from a corpus of real-world building plan data to form a predictive model. The trained predictive model may then be queried to generate estimates of room dimensions and orientations. These estimates are then integrated with the overall building footprint and iteratively improved using a two-stage optimisation process to form complete interior plans.
The approach is presented as a semi-automatic method for constructing plans which can cope with a limited set of known information and constructs likely representations of building plans through modelling of soft and hard constraints.
