[Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (Auteur) With the development of real-time precise clock and orbit products, high-precision real-time ionospheric products have become one of the most critical resources for real-time single-frequency precise point positioning. Fortunately, there are several international GNSS service (IGS) analysis centers, e.g., UPC, WHU, and CAS, that are providing real-time global ionospheric maps (RT-GIMs). We evaluate these maps in detail over 2 years for different aspects. First, the RT-GIMs and 1-day predicted ionospheric products (C1PG GIM) differenced with the IGS final GIMs (IGSG GIM) are performed. Second, ionospheric vertical total electron content from Jason-2/3 data is set as a reference to evaluate the quality of RT-GIMs over oceanic regions. Third, 22 stations, which are not used in the generation of RT-GIMs, C1PG GIM, and IGSG GIM, are selected and the difference of slant total electron content (dSTEC) method is used to assess the accuracy and consistency of RT-GIMs over continental regions. Finally, the performance of RT-GIMs in the position domain is demonstrated based on SF-PPP solutions. The results show that the accuracy of the RT-GIMs is slightly worse than that of C1PG GIM and IGSG GIM. All RT-GIMs and the C1PG GIM have a smaller mean difference compared to the IGSG GIM by (−0.97, − 0.90, − 0.77, − 0.80) TECU for (UPC RT-GIM, CAS RT-GIM, WHU RT-GIM, C1PG GIM). Over oceanic regions, the RT-GIMs perform nearly the same as the C1PG GIM, but a slightly worse than IGSG GIM. The STDs are (3.96, 3.05, 3.25, 3.12, 2.54) TECU relative to Jason-2 and (4.94, 3.24, 3.38, 3.24, 2.65) TECU relative to Jason-3 for (UPC RT-GIM, CAS RT-GIM, WHU RT-GIM, C1PG GIM, IGSG GIM), respectively. Comparing with dSTEC values observed from the selected ground stations over continental regions, the RMS is (4.02, 2.16, 2.29, 1.86, 1.49) TECU for (UPC RT-GIM, CAS RT-GIM, WHU RT-GIM, C1PG GIM, IGSG GIM). In the position domain, the positioning accuracy of SF-PPP solution corrected by the RT-GIMs and C1PG GIM can reach decimeter level in the horizontal direction and meter level in the vertical direction, which is worse than obtained by IGSG GIM. Meanwhile, the positioning accuracy of SF-PPP corrected by RT-GIMs is almost the same as that obtained using C1PG GIM. For RT-GIMs, the accuracy of the CAS RT-GIM is slightly better than that of the other two RT-GIMs.

[Termes IGN] varianceRésumé : (auteur) Vertical total electron content (VTEC) global ionospheric maps (GIM) are commonly used to correct the ionospheric delay of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals for single-frequency positioning and other ionospheric studies. The measurements observed by inhomogeneously distributed ground reference stations are the only data used to generate the GIMs. Thus the accuracy of the GIMs over ocean and polar regions is relatively poor due to the lack of measurements over these regions. In this study, space-borne VTECs obtained from ocean-altimetry and GNSS radio occultation measurements are incorporated into the modelling process. Since the three types of VTEC data have different qualities, the weight for each type of data is determined using the Helmert-variance component estimation (Helmert-VCE) method. In addition, unlike the traditional weighted least squares (WLS) estimation method in which the design matrix of observation equations is fixed, in this study, the design matrix, especially those elements in design matrix that are derived from the coordinates of either tangent point or ionospheric pierce point, are considered to be inaccurate. Thus they are adjusted together with the unknown coefficient parameters of the fitting model using the fast-weighted total least squares (fast-WTLS) technique. The proposed approach, named Helmert-WTLS, was tested using the data in the period of day of year (DOY) 217–224, 2016 and validated using GIMs produced by the research team for ionosphere and precise positioning based on BDS/GNSS (GIPP) at the Academy of Opto-Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Comparison results showed that the GIMs (with a 2 h temporal resolution) generated using the new approach can improve the determination of ionospheric TEC by 0.28 TEC units (TECU) over those from the Helmert-VCE-aided WLS approach (w.r.t CAS references, respectively) and by 1.61 TECU better than those from WLS, in terms of the mean of all root-mean-squares errors of all 2 h time slots in the 8-day testing period. In addition, in comparison with out-of-sample Jason-3 observations, results from the proposed method also outperformed Helmert-VCE-aided WLS, CAS and CODE models by 1.5, 2.4 and 2.4 TECU, respectively. [Termes IGN] teneur verticale totale en électronsRésumé : (Auteur) An apparent delay is occurred in GPS signal due to both refraction and diffraction caused by the atmosphere. The second region of the atmosphere is the ionosphere. The ionosphere is significantly related to GPS and the refraction it causes in GPS signal is considered one of the main source of errors which must be eliminated to determine accurate positions. GPS receiver networks have been used for monitoring the ionosphere for a long time.
The ionospheric delay is the most predominant of all the error sources. This delay is a function of the total electron content (TEC). Because of the dispersive nature of the ionosphere, one can estimate the ionospheric delay using the dual frequency GPS.
In the current research our primary goal is applying Precise Point Positioning (PPP) observation for accurate ionosphere error modeling, by estimating Ionosphere delay using carrier phase observations from dual frequency GPS receiver. The proposed algorithm was written using MATLAB and was named VIDE program.
The proposed Algorithm depends on the geometry-free carrier-phase observations after detecting cycle slip to estimates the ionospheric delay using a spherical ionospheric shell model, in which the vertical delays are described by means of a zenith delay at the station position and latitudinal and longitudinal gradients.
Geometry-free carrier-phase observations were applied to avoid unwanted effects of pseudorange measurements, such as code multipath. The ionospheric estimation in this algorithm is performed by means of sequential least-squares adjustment.
Finally, an adaptable user interface MATLAB software are capable of estimating ionosphere delay, ambiguity term and ionosphere gradient accurately.

[Termes IGN] teneur verticale totale en électronsRésumé : (Auteur) Real-time single-frequency precise point positioning (RT-SF-PPP) has become a desired positioning approach because it can achieve high positioning accuracy with a low-cost global navigation satellite system (GNSS) chipset or receiver. For single-frequency precise point positioning (SF-PPP) applications, the ionospheric delay is a dominant error source, and thus the quality of applied ionospheric products is critical to the performance of SF-PPP. To meet the demands of the RT-SF-PPP users, the international GNSS service (IGS) is planning to provide open-access real-time ionospheric products. By now, the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES) is the only IGS analysis center (AC) to broadcast real-time ionospheric vertical total electron content (VTEC) message through its real-time service (RTS). The quality of the CNES real-time ionospheric products is drawing increasing attention from the GNSS community. We evaluate the quality of CNES real-time VTEC message both in the ionospheric correction domain and positioning domain. First, 374 consecutive days of CNES VTEC products are collected and compared with the IGS final global ionospheric map (GIM) products. Second, slant total electron content (STEC) computed with CNES VTEC message is fully assessed with respect to STEC derived from dual-frequency GNSS measurements. Finally, RT-SF-PPP is conducted for assessing the quality of CNES real-time ionospheric products in the positioning domain. The degree and order of the spherical harmonic expansions broadcasted in the CNES VTEC messages changed from 6 to 12 in the time span of collected data, the effects of higher degree and order parameters are investigated at the same time in the experiments above. [Termes IGN] teneur verticale totale en électronsRésumé : (Auteur) Precise Point Positioning (PPP) is an absolute positioning technology mainly used in post data processing. With the continuously increasing demand for real-time high-precision applications in positioning, timing, retrieval of atmospheric parameters, etc., Real-Time PPP (RTPPP) and its applications have drawn more and more research attention in recent years. This study focuses on the models, algorithms and ionospheric applications of RTPPP on the basis of raw observations, in which high-precision slant ionospheric delays are estimated among others in real time. For this purpose, a robust processing strategy for multi-station RTPPP with raw observations has been proposed and realized, in which real-time data streams and State-Space-Representative (SSR) satellite orbit and clock corrections are used. With the RTPPP-derived slant ionospheric delays from a regional network, a real-time regional ionospheric Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) modeling method is proposed based on Adjusted Spherical Harmonic Functions and a Moving-Window Filter. SSR satellite orbit and clock corrections from different IGS analysis centers are evaluated. Ten globally distributed real-time stations are used to evaluate the positioning performances of the proposed RTPPP algorithms in both static and kinematic modes. RMS values of positioning errors in static/kinematic mode are 5.2/15.5, 4.7/17.4 and 12.8/46.6 mm, for north, east and up components, respectively. Real-time slant ionospheric delays from RTPPP are compared with those from the traditional Carrier-to-Code Leveling (CCL) method, in terms of function model, formal precision and between-receiver differences of short baseline. Results show that slant ionospheric delays from RTPPP are more precise and have a much better convergence performance than those from the CCL method in real-time processing. 30 real-time stations from the Asia-Pacific Reference Frame network are used to model the ionospheric VTECs over Australia in real time, with slant ionospheric delays from both RTPPP and CCL methods for comparison. RMS of the VTEC differences between RTPPP/CCL method and CODE final products is 0.91/1.09 TECU, and RMS of the VTEC differences between RTPPP and CCL methods is 0.67 TECU. Slant Total Electron Contents retrieved from different VTEC models are also validated with epoch-differenced Geometry-Free combinations of dual-frequency phase observations, and mean RMS values are 2.14, 2.33 and 2.07 TECU for RTPPP method, CCL method and CODE final products, respectively. This shows the superiority of RTPPP-derived slant ionospheric delays in real-time ionospheric VTEC modeling.
