[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) We consider the problem of the semantic classification of 3D LiDAR point clouds obtained from urban scenes when the training set is limited. We propose a non-parametric segmentation model for urban scenes composed of anthropic objects of simple shapes, partionning the scene into geometrically-homogeneous segments which size is determined by the local complexity. This segmentation can be integrated into a conditional random field classifier (CRF) in order to capture the high-level structure of the scene. For each cluster, this allows us to aggregate the noisy predictions of a weakly-supervised classifier to produce a higher confidence data term. We demonstrate the improvement provided by our method over two publicly-available large-scale data sets. In this paper, an automatic methodology for rough georeferencing of large datasets of multiview oblique and vertical aerial images of urban regions without any metadata is proposed. Using feature-based matching combined with robust model fitting and least-squares techniques, the method requires the measurement of a minimum number of points with known coordinates in only one image. The results of this methodology are discussed through the presentation of a developed software suite which identifies the overlapping images, georeferences them, extracts their footprints, subdivides the images into groups based on these footprints and detects the images that cover a specific region. [Termes IGN] valeur radiométriqueRésumé : (Auteur) Satellite images can provide valuable information about the presented urban landscape scenes to remote sensing and telecommunication applications. Obtaining information from satellite images is difficult since all the objects and their surroundings are presented with feature complexity. The shadows cast by buildings in urban scenes can be processed and used for estimating building heights. Thus, a robust and accurate building shadow detection process is important. Region-based active contour models can be used for satellite image segmentation. However, spectral heterogeneity that usually exists in satellite images and the feature similarity representing the shadow and several non-shadow regions makes building shadow detection challenging. In this work, a new automated method for delineating building shadows is proposed. Initially, spectral and spatial features of the satellite image are utilized for designing a custom filter to enhance shadows and reduce intensity heterogeneity. An effective iterative procedure using intensity differences is developed for tuning and subsequently selecting the most appropriate filter settings, able to highlight the building shadows. The response of the filter is then used for automatically estimating the radiometric property of the shadows. The customized filter and the radiometric feature are utilized to form an optimized active contour model where the contours are biased to delineate shadow regions. Post-processing morphological operations are also developed and applied for removing misleading artefacts. Finally, building heights are approximated using shadow length and the predefined or estimated solar elevation angle. Qualitative and quantitative measures are used for evaluating the performance of the proposed method for both shadow detection and building height estimation. Note de contenu : Partie 1 Synthèse Scientifique

[Termes IGN] scène urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Mobile mapping technology (MMT) involves the dynamic digitization at very high spatial resolution of complex environments (mainly urban environments) using a mobile terrestrial platform. The aim is to acquire very precise and very accurate georeferenced data of objects of interest as well as in fine data for applications which require this level of geometric precision (3D city modeling, pedestrian and vehicle detection for autonomous navigation, digitizing roadway property, archaeological excavations, etc.). This chapter will focus on mobile mapping from roads, but similar methods have also been developed for digitizing rail networks through the use of trains equipped with similar sensors.
