[Termes IGN] retard ionosphèriqueRésumé : (auteur) In the context of processing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) data, it is known that the estimation of the ionospheric delays decreases the strength of the observation model and makes significant the time required to fix the ambiguities namely in case of long baselines. However, considering the double-differenced (DD) ionospheric delays as stochastic quantities, the redundancy in this case increases and leads to the reduction of time of fixing the ambiguities. The approach developed in the present paper makes two considerations: 1) the DD ionospheric delays are assumed as stochastic quantities and, 2) the spatial correlation of errors is accounted for based on a simple model of correlation. A simulation is made and aims to study the effect of these two mentioned considerations on the performances of the three multifrequency GNSSs; modernized GPS, Galileo and BDS which are not yet in full capability. For each GNSS, dual-frequency combinations of frequencies as well as triple-frequency combination are investigated in the simulation. The performances studied include: the time to fix the ambiguities with high success rate and the precision of coordinates in static relative positioning with varying baseline length. A method is developed to derive what we call the spatial correlation model which approximately gives the covariance between the individual errors belonging to two stations. Furthermore, the stochastic models that follow from accounting and neglecting the spatial correlation are developed. The LAMBDA (Least-squares Ambiguity Decorrelation Adjustment) method is implemented for ambiguity decorrelation. The results show that the time to fix the ambiguities caused by accounting the spatial correlation is less than the time of fix without the spatial correlation. Also, a slight superiority of Galileo in terms of performances is seen compared to the other GNSS. For all the dualfrequency combinations investigated, when processing a baseline length of 500 km with accounted spatial correlation, the time needed to successfully fix the ambiguities lies between 5 and 9 min, whereas it becomes only between 2.5 and 3 min for all the triple-frequency combinations, this is with a sampling time of 5 s. In addition, for all different combinations, the coordinates precision is less than 8 mm even for 500 km. We think that these high performances result from: 1) the precise codes of future GNSS signals, 2) the high redundancy in the observations equation and, 3) taking into account the spatial correlation in the definition of the stochastic model. [Termes IGN] transmission de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) GNSSs, such as Galileo and modernized GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS systems, offer new potential and challenges in precise time and frequency transfer using multi-frequency observations. We focus on the performance of Galileo time and frequency transfer using the E1, E5a, E5b and E5 observations. Dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models for precise time and frequency transfer with different Galileo observations are proposed. Four time and transfer links between international time laboratories are used to assess the performances of different models in terms of time link noise level and frequency stability indicators. The average RMS values of the smoothed residuals of the clock difference series are 0.033 ns, 0.033 ns and 0.034 ns for the dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models with four time links, respectively. With respect to frequency stability, the average stability values at 15,360 s are 9.51 × 10−15, 9.46 × 10−15 and 9.37 × 10−15 for the dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models with four time links, respectively. Moreover, although biases among different models and receiver the inter-frequency exist, their characteristics are relatively stable. Generally, the dual-/triple-/quad-frequency models show similar performance for those time links, and the quad-frequency models can provide significant potential for switching among and unifying the three multi-frequency solutions, as well as further enhancing the redundancy and reliability compared to the current dual-frequency time transfer method. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) The proper choice of stochastic model is of great importance to global navigation satellite system (GNSS) data processing. Whereas extensive investigations into stochastic modeling are mainly based on the relative (or differential) method employing zero and/or short baselines, this work proposes an absolute method that relies upon a stand-alone receiver and works by applying the least-squares variance component estimation to the geometry-free functional model, thus facilitating the characterization of stochastic properties of multi-frequency GNSS observables at the undifferenced level. In developing the absolute method, special care has been taken of the code multipath effects by introducing ambiguity-like parameters to the code observation equations. By means of both the relative and absolute methods, we characterize the precision, cross and time correlation of the code and phase observables of two newly emerging constellations, namely the Chinese BDS and the European Galileo, collected by a variety of receivers of different types at multiple frequencies. Our first finding is that so far as the precision is concerned, the absolute method yields nearly the same numerical values as those derived by the zero-baseline-based relative method. However, the two methods give contradictory results with regard to the cross correlation, which is found (not) to occur between BDS phase observables when use has been made of the relative (absolute) method. Our explanation to this discrepancy is that the cross correlation found in the relative method originates from the parts (antenna, cable, low noise amplifier) shared by two receivers creating a zero baseline. The time correlation is only of significance when the multipath effects are present, as is the case with the short-baseline-based relative method; this correlation turns out to be largely weaker (or ideally absent) in the absolute (or zero-baseline-based relative) method. Moreover, with the absolute method, the stochastic properties determined for two receivers of the same type but subject to different multipath effects are virtually the same. We take this as a convincing evidence that the absolute method is robust against multipath effects. Hence, the absolute method proposed in the present work represents a promising complement to the relative method and appears to be particularly beneficial to GNSS positioning, navigation and timing technologies based on the undifferenced observables, typically the precise point positioning. [Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (auteur) Multi-constellation GNSS (multi-GNSS) and multi-frequency signals open new prospects for fast ambiguity resolution (AR) of precise point positioning (PPP). Currently, all the BDS and Galileo satellites are capable of transmitting signals on three or more frequencies. In this contribution, we investigate the triple-frequency PPP ambiguity resolution with B1, B2 and B3 observations from BDS satellites and E1, E5a and E5b observations from Galileo satellites and evaluate the contribution of BDS + Galileo combination to triple-frequency PPP AR. The uncalibrated phase delay (UPD) products are estimated based on triple-frequency observations, and the temporal characteristic as well as the residual distributions are analyzed. Our results show that the extra-wide-lane (EWL) and wide-lane (WL) UPDs for BDS and Galileo satellites are both stable during the 30 days and the daily narrow-lane (NL) UPD series are also steady with no obvious fluctuation. The Galileo UPDs exhibit better performance than BDS UPDs due to the high-quality observations. It is also interesting to find that the EWL UPD corrections for all Galileo satellites are very close to the zero. With the precise UPD products, the triple-frequency PPP AR with BDS and Galileo observations was implemented in both static and kinematic modes. Compared to the ambiguity-float solution, the performance can be significantly improved by triple-frequency PPP AR with the positioning accuracy improved by 30–70% in both static and kinematic modes. Moreover, the triple-frequency PPP fixed solutions also present better performance than the dual-frequency PPP fixed solutions in terms of time to the first fix and positioning accuracy, especially for the Galileo-only and BDS + Galileo solutions. And the fusion of multi-GNSS (BDS and Galileo) can further improve the position estimations compared to the single system with more satellites and better spatial geometry. [Termes IGN] signal BeiDouRésumé : (Auteur) The latest generation of GNSS satellites such as GPS BLOCK-IIF, Galileo and BDS are transmitting signals on three or more frequencies, thus having more choices in practice. At the same time, new challenges arise for integrating the new signals. This paper contributes to the modeling and assessment of triple-frequency PPP with BDS data. First, three triple-frequency PPP models are developed. The observation model and stochastic model are designed and extended to accommodate the third frequency. In particular, new biases such as differential code biases and inter-frequency biases as well as the parameterizations are addressed. Then, the relationships between different PPP models are discussed. To verify the triple-frequency PPP models, PPP tests with real triple-frequency data were performed in both static and kinematic scenarios. Results show that the three triple-frequency PPP models agree well with each other. Additional frequency has a marginal effect on the positioning accuracy in static PPP tests. However, the benefits of third frequency are significant in situations of where there is poor tracking and contaminated observations on frequencies B1 and B2 in kinematic PPP tests.
