[Termes IGN] structure d'un peuplement forestierRésumé : (auteur) The mapping of ecosystem service (ES) provisioning often lacks decision-makers’ preferences on the ESs provided. Analyzing the related uncertainties can be computationally demanding for a landscape tessellated to a large number of spatial units such as pixels. We propose stochastic multicriteria acceptability analyses to incorporate (unknown or only partially known) decision-makers’ preferences into the spatial forest management prioritization in a Scandinavian boreal forest landscape. The potential of the landscape for the management alternatives was quantified by airborne laser scanning based proxies. A nearest-neighbor imputation method was applied to provide each pixel with stochastic acceptabilities on the alternatives based on decision-makers’ preferences sampled from a probability distribution. We showed that this workflow could be used to derive two types of maps for forest use prioritization: one showing the alternative that a decision-maker with given preferences should choose and another showing areas where the suitability of the forest structure suggested different alternative than the preferences. We discuss the potential of the latter approach for mapping management hotspots. The stochastic approach allows estimating the strength of the decision with respect to the uncertainty in both the proxy values and preferences. The nearest neighbor imputation of stochastic acceptabilities is a computationally feasible way to improve decisions based on ES proxy maps by accounting for uncertainties, although the need for such detailed information at the pixel level should be separately assessed. [Termes IGN] voie cyclableRésumé : (auteur) Cycling practice has been constantly increasing for several years and the COVID crisis has just accelerated the process. Indeed, more and more municipalities have developed new cycle paths to facilitate cycling. Considering this increasing interest for cycling, it makes sense to study how this recent evolution is reflected in the underlying representation of the cycling network in the geographic databases. Main studies analysing the evolution of the road network focus on the motor vehicle network in the major cities of the world. These studies do not seem applicable to cycling network specially to some low population density areas or even to smaller cities. This paper analyses the changes in the cycling network through OSM data from a data freshness perspective. These changes can be either updates from changes in the real-world network or upgrades to the network. To these end, we propose a method using a Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) to analyse the frequency of changes in cycling routes in several areas with different population density, all in the Loire Valley region in France. We also define the cycling network, which is a very complex concept and we explain how it is represented in OSM data and suffers from different data quality issues. Results show that the number of changes across time are similar in areas having a similar population density, while being lower in low population density areas. These phenomena is higher in the cycling network compared to other networks. [Termes IGN] signal GPSRésumé : (auteur) Ground-based positioning systems (GBPSs) can serve as a supplement and backup to global navigation satellite systems. GBPSs are known for their low cost and high flexibility, but most of them have difficulty in achieving rapid deployment and operation, since the coordinates of transmitters rely on external precise measurements. Several existing self-calibration methods based on carrier phase measurements require known points of GBPS transmitters or receivers, which implies dependence on external measurements. This paper proposes an autonomous coordinate establishment (ACE) method without using known reference points for GBPSs. ACE utilizes a kinematic receiver to collect carrier phase measurements and employs a three-step procedure to establish a regional coordinate system. In the first step, ACE uses the properties of matrix structures to decouple generalized ambiguities and coordinates. Then, ACE obtains the rough estimation of the transmitter coordinates via multi-dimensional scaling in the second step. In the third step, ACE refines the estimate by solving a least squares problem which would be difficult to solve without the previous two steps. Numerical simulations and a real-world experiment show that the coordinate estimation of ACE can achieve decimeter to centimeter-level accuracy. The proposed method enables rapid deployment and operation for GBPSs. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) This study aimed to compare a handheld mobile laser scanning (HMLS), called TORCH that uses the SLAM algorithm, and a PPK-integrated close-range terrestrial photogrammetry (CRTP) to measure forest road surface deformation. The PPK-integrated CRTP includes a multiband GNSS-module and a camera mounted on a 5-m prism pole. 3D point-clouds were gathered/produced at three different dates with approximately 3-month intervals. And then road surface deformations were determined by applying the M3C2 algorithm. Each method was compared by considering some advantages and disadvantages. PPK-integrated CRTP, which could only be used in areas where the GPS signal is not blocked, provided highly denser 3D point clouds than HMLS. However, for the first period, the difference of mean deformation values between the two methods was not statistically significant, whereas it was statistically significant for the second period. Both methods can be suggested to use in forest road surface deformation yet considering their limitations.
