[Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (auteur) This paper focuses on PPP-B2b, one of the featured services for BDS-3, which provides users around China with centimetre-level static positioning accuracy and decimetre-level kinematic positioning accuracy by broadcasting precise corrections for GPS/BDS-3 satellites. The GEO PPP-B2b signal broadcasted information types, including the PRN mask, orbit corrections, differential code bias corrections and clock corrections, are introduced, as well as a brief description of their usage. A new orbit determination strategy using regional L-band code/phase measurements and inter-satellite link measurements in combination and a real-time clock estimation strategy based on the Kalman filter for PPP-B2b precise correction generation are introduced in this contribution. Then, the accuracy of the orbit and clock corrections is assessed. The orbit user ranging error (URE) is 0.05 m for the BDS-3 MEO and GPS satellites. The orbit URE for BDS-3 IGSO satellites is worse, i.e., 0.15 m. The clock correction accuracy is 0.2 ns for BDS-3 and GPS satellites. Finally, the PPP-B2b performance is validated by both the static PPP process and simulated kinematic PPP process. BDS-3/GPS dual-system PPP offers faster convergence and better accuracy. The positioning accuracy achievable using PPP-B2b real-time products is at the same level as that using post-processed products. The RMS for BDS-3/GPS dual-system static positioning errors is less than 1.0 cm in east and north and about 3.0 cm in the up. The simulated kinematic positioning accuracy is better than 2.5 cm in the north, 3.5 cm in the east and 8.5 cm in the up directions after convergence. Analyses at the parcel level allow taking into account the administrative and physical environment of buildings with accuracy (roads, surrounding buildings, local design rules for building construction). In this article, we propose a free and open source software application, namely Parcel Manager, whose aims are twofold: (1) to assess the effects of different parcel reshaping rules and planning principles on the location, the number, and the shape of reshaped parcels; and (2) to provide a basis to assess the potential for new building construction. To this end, Parcel Manager simulates a large variety of parcel reshaping processes, with or without the joint creation of new roads, and produces realistic parcel layouts that represent either infill urban developments, edge expansions, or leapfrog developments. It can be used to determine if the densification of built parcels is feasible or not, regarding planning and design rules as well as the current urban fabric. The current version of Parcel Manager only concerns the reshaping of parcels dedicated to the construction of residential buildings but not other types of buildings. [Termes IGN] vision par ordinateurRésumé : (auteur) Key-frame selection methods were developed in the past years to reduce the complexity of frame processing in visual odometry (VO) and visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) algorithms. Key-frames help increasing algorithm's performances by sparsifying frames while maintaining its accuracy and robustness. Unlike current selection methods that rely on many heuristic thresholds to decide which key-frame should be selected, this paper proposes a photogrammetric-based key-frame selection method built upon ORB-SLAM3. The proposed algorithm, named Photogrammetric Key-frame Selection (PKS), replaces static heuristic thresholds with photogrammetric principles, ensuring algorithm’s robustness and better point cloud quality. A key-frame is chosen based on adaptive thresholds and the Equilibrium Of Center Of Gravity (ECOG) criteria as well as Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) observations. To evaluate the proposed PKS method, the European Robotics Challenge (EuRoC) and an in-house datasets are used. Quantitative and qualitative evaluations are made by comparing trajectories, point clouds quality and completeness and Absolute Trajectory Error (ATE) in mono-inertial and stereo-inertial modes. Moreover, for the generated dense point clouds, extensive evaluations, including plane-fitting error, model deformation, model alignment error, and model density and quality, are performed. The results show that the proposed algorithm improves ORB-SLAM3 positioning accuracy by 18% in stereo-inertial mode and 20% in mono-inertial mode without the use of heuristic thresholds, as well as producing a more complete and accurate point cloud up to 50%. Excès d’automatisation du dessin, mauvais choix dans les méthodes de restitution, économie des moyens en personnels, Paul essaie de comprendre pourquoi il ne retrouve plus les falaises d’antan, leurs courbes de niveau et leurs ombrages. Sollicité, Dominique Foubert, ancien topographe du service de la cartographie à l’IGN, nous déroule des pistes de réflexion liées à l’historique de la production des cartes. Effectivement, grâce à l’appui de Christophe Pécot, les souvenirs se précisent et Dominique nous explique “pourquoi et comment” on en est arrivé là. [Termes IGN] toponymie localeRésumé : (auteur) This paper discusses the aim and the process of designing a community-engaged open-access GIS toponymic platform, based on Indigenous Evenki place names. Most projects on Indigenous toponymy available online are either oriented towards professional use among scholars or serve as enclosed repositories of Indigenous knowledge. Toponymic atlases remain the most common form of documenting and representing Indigenous place naming systems. Yet, temporal and geographic comparisons of place names have clearly demonstrated that, along with a conventional understanding of Indigenous place names as stable and conservative, there is a dynamic model of place naming to be found in nomadic societies, when the names are not only passed through generations but also modified and created. This finding required a number of methodological approaches regarding how researchers might collect and represent geospatial concepts and place names in nomadic societies, with the use of GIS technology. Our project attempts to approach this issue by creating an open digital platform that combines GIS with Indigenous vernacular cartography, place names, and a great variety of data regarding the meaning and use of toponyms, their evolution, and change. We call this approach a “process toponymy” and advocate for applying a semiotic approach to documenting and representing Indigenous place names’ knowledge via GIS-based platforms.
