[Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) Recently, many researchers tried to generate (generalised) maps using deep learning, and most of the proposed methods deal with deep neural network architecture choices. Deep learning learns to reproduce examples, so we think that improving the training examples, and especially the representation of the initial geographic information, is the key issue for this problem. Our article extracts some representation issues from a literature review and proposes different ways to represent vector geographic information as a tensor. We propose two kinds of contributions: 1) the representation of information by layers; 2) the representation of additional information. Then, we demonstrate the interest of some of our propositions with experiments that show a visual improvement for the generation of generalised topographic maps in urban areas. [Termes IGN] véhicule sans piloteRésumé : (auteur) Road surface extraction is crucial for 3D city analysis. Mobile laser scanning (MLS) is the most appropriate data acquisition system for the road environment because of its efficient vehicle-based on-road scanning opportunity. Many methods are available for road pavement, curb and roadside way extraction. Most of them use classical approaches that do not mitigate problems caused by the presence of noise and outliers. In practice, however, laser scanning point clouds are not free from noise and outliers, and it is apparent that the presence of a very small portion of outliers and noise can produce unreliable and non-robust results. A road surface usually consists of three key parts: road pavement, curb and roadside way. This paper investigates the problem of road surface extraction in the presence of noise and outliers, and proposes a robust algorithm for road pavement, curb, road divider/islands, and roadside way extraction using MLS point clouds. The proposed algorithm employs robust statistical approaches to remove the consequences of the presence of noise and outliers. It consists of five sequential steps for road ground and non-ground surface separation, and road related components determination. Demonstration on two different MLS data sets shows that the new algorithm is efficient for road surface extraction and for classifying road pavement, curb, road divider/island and roadside way. The success can be rated in one experiment in this paper, where we extract curb points; the results achieve 97.28%, 100% and 0.986 of precision, recall and Matthews correlation coefficient, respectively. [Termes IGN] signal GNSSIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) In this Ph.D. thesis, we are interested in robust carrier-phase estimation by using Variational Bayesian filtering. Carrier-phase measurement has become a fundamental task in many various engineering applications such as precise point positioning in GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). Unfortunately, phase measurements obtained by traditional phase tracking techniques may be strongly affected by the presence of ambiguous phase jumps, known as cycle slips. The latter may strongly impact the performance of the considered phase tracking algorithm leading to, in the worst case, a permanent loss of lock (drop-lock) of the signal. A re-acquistion process is then necessary which afflicts the tracking performance. Therefore, to address this problem, we propose a robust nonlinear filter for carrier-phase tracking based on Restricted Variational Bayes inference. This methodology gives us a closed-form and easy-to-implement expression of the estimator. First, the algorithm is developed only for slow phase dynamics (i.e., first-order loop), then, its order is augmented by estimating a state vector formed by the carrier-phase and its derivatives. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with that of conventional techniques such as DPLL (Digital Phase Lock Loop) and KF (Kalman Filter)-based DPLL in terms of precision of estimation (root-mean-square error) and cycle slipping occurrence (mean-time-to-first-slip and cycle slip rate). The comparison is firstly conducted using synthetic data, and then, real GNSS data into a GNSS software-defined-radio receiver. Results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional linear filters, when the signal-to-noise ratio is low. Note de contenu : Introduction

[Vedettes matières IGN] CartologieRésumé : (auteur) [début] The use of cartographic representations among people with visual impairments (PVI) is often limited by the lack of available materials. However, two uses have been identified: diagrams made with sticks magnetised to a metal plate (Figure 1) are used by Orientation and Mobility instructors as a discussion aid around complex areas (typically intersections), and more accurate maps made by transcribing adapters are sometimes produced for regular use. While classical variations of the generalisation and stylisation approaches allow for the production of fairly accurate maps [JLCJ21], for example from OpenStreetMap data (figure 2), there are currently no known approaches to producing a more schematic representation, in the manner of the locomotion instructors’ magnets.
