[Termes IGN] horloge atomiqueRésumé : (auteur) ROYMAGE (hoRloge Optique à Ytterbium Mobile Appliquée à l’exploration GEodésique) is a project funded by the French ANR dedicated to develop a transportable ytterbium (Yb) optical lattice clock. Connected to the fiber network REFIMEVE+, the clock will allow remote clock comparisons to perform chronometric geodesy applications and tests of gravitational time dilation. With a relative frequency uncertainty targeted in the low 10^-17 (equiv. 10 cm in height) at a first step, the clock will provide geopotential measurements which are not directly available with traditional techniques (e.g. GNSS/levelling, InSar, gravimetry, gradiometry). This could revolutionize the determination of the gravity field and geodetic vertical references, the exploration of the Earth’s internal dynamic and the connection between sea level measured either by tide gauges or by satellites. We present here the objectives and motivations for the 4-years project involving 4 partners in the consortium (Observatoire de Paris, IPGP, IGN and SHOM). [Termes IGN] Wide Area Augmentation SystemRésumé : (auteur) Space-based augmentation system (SBAS) provides correction information for improving the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning accuracy in real-time, which includes satellite orbit/clock and ionospheric delay corrections. At SBAS service area boundaries, the correction is not fully available to GNSS users and only a partial correction is available, mostly satellite orbit/clock information. By using the geospatial correlation property of the ionosphere delay information, the ionosphere correction coverage can be extended by a spatial extrapolation algorithm. This paper proposes extending SBAS ionosphere correction coverage by using a biharmonic spline extrapolation algorithm. The wide area augmentation system (WAAS) ionosphere map is extended and its ionospheric delay error is compared with the GPS Klobuchar model. The mean ionosphere error reduction at low latitude is 52.3%. The positioning accuracy of the extended ionosphere correction method is compared with the accuracy of the conventional SBAS positioning method when only a partial set of SBAS corrections are available. The mean positioning error reduction is 44.8%, and the positioning accuracy improvement is significant at low latitude. [Termes IGN] Sentinel-3Résumé : (auteur) A unique architecture of Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B satellites includes the shared ultra-stable oscillator (USO) by the DORIS and GPS receivers. This concept enables to apply onboard GPS clock estimates in the DORIS processing substituting the DORIS polynomial clock model by the GPS epoch-wise model, together with a DORIS-specific clock offset. Such an approach is particularly profitable for the mitigation of the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) effect affecting the short-term frequency stability of the USO oscillator in the South America and South Atlantic region. The GPS clock behavior precisely maps the SAA effect and enables us to demonstrate a difference of the USO sensitivity to the SAA for Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B. We present world grid maps of clock time derivatives for both Sentinels, displaying a different sign of the direct effect and other differences in the USO memory/recovery effect. Moreover, we present the impact of SAA on 3D positioning where the largest SAA-related bias reaches several centimeters. We also determine an effect of the precise clock modeling on the Earth rotation parameter estimates. In addition to these improvements, the elimination of the SAA effect gives us an opportunity to get an almost SAA-free DORIS solution from Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B satellites. Using the combined solution of both Sentinels as a reference, we estimate the SAA effect on the DORIS beacon positions also for satellites Jason-2, Jason-3, Saral, Cryosat-2 and Hy-2A and find significant positioning biases for all the recent satellites except Saral. [Termes IGN] triple différenceRésumé : (auteur) Along with the rapid development of GNSS, not only BeiDou, but also Galileo, and the newly launched GPS satellites can provide signals on three frequencies at present. To fully take advantage of the multi-frequency multi-system GNSS observations on precise point positioning (PPP) technology, this study aims to implement the triple-frequency ambiguity resolution (AR) for GPS, Galileo, and BeiDou-2 combined PPP using the raw observation model. The processing of inter-frequency clock bias (IFCB) estimation and correction in the context of triple-frequency PPP AR has been addressed, with which the triple-frequency uncalibrated phase delay (UPD) estimation is realized for real GPS observations for the first time. In addition, the GPS extra-wide-line UPD quality is significantly improved with the IFCB correction. Because of not being contaminated by the IFCB, the raw UPD estimation method is directly employed for Galileo which currently has 24 satellites in operation. An interesting phenomenon is found that all Galileo satellites except E24 have a zero extra-wide-lane UPD value. With the multi-GNSS observations provided by MGEX covering 15 days, the positioning solutions of GPS + Galileo + BeiDou triple-frequency PPP AR have been conducted and analyzed. The triple-frequency kinematic GNSS PPP AR can achieve an averaged 3D positioning error of 2.2 cm, and an averaged convergence time of 10.8 min. The average convergence time can be reduced by triple-frequency GNSS PPP AR by 15.6% compared with dual-frequency GNSS PPP AR, respectively. However, the additional third frequency has only a marginal contribution to positioning accuracy after convergence. [Termes IGN] transmission de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) GNSSs, such as Galileo and modernized GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS systems, offer new potential and challenges in precise time and frequency transfer using multi-frequency observations. We focus on the performance of Galileo time and frequency transfer using the E1, E5a, E5b and E5 observations. Dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models for precise time and frequency transfer with different Galileo observations are proposed. Four time and transfer links between international time laboratories are used to assess the performances of different models in terms of time link noise level and frequency stability indicators. The average RMS values of the smoothed residuals of the clock difference series are 0.033 ns, 0.033 ns and 0.034 ns for the dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models with four time links, respectively. With respect to frequency stability, the average stability values at 15,360 s are 9.51 × 10−15, 9.46 × 10−15 and 9.37 × 10−15 for the dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models with four time links, respectively. Moreover, although biases among different models and receiver the inter-frequency exist, their characteristics are relatively stable. Generally, the dual-/triple-/quad-frequency models show similar performance for those time links, and the quad-frequency models can provide significant potential for switching among and unifying the three multi-frequency solutions, as well as further enhancing the redundancy and reliability compared to the current dual-frequency time transfer method.
