[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) With the growing popularization of small crafts, the accidents that happen among such crafts are also drawing increasing attention, according to the marine accident data released by the Japan Coast Guard. In order to prevent possible navigation accidents, the authors considered that besides sharing information from land by the coast office broadly, managers on land can also watch out and give appropriate advice for operators in crafts one-to-one. This paper discusses the technical issues of developing virtual globe-based (Google Maps/Earth geographic information system (GIS)) 3D visualization stand-alone software for small craft navigation assistance in the aim to facilitate the safety and sufficiency of small crafts in the near sea. The system was developed using web services and object-oriented programming disciplines to support the integration of a virtual global framework, GPS, and real-time imaging data. The authors have also developed data processing programs that are glued together with C# language, JavaScript language, National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) instance data, and keyhole markup language (KML) data. Experiments for evaluating the framework have been made around the near coastal area. The performances and deficiencies are discussed in this paper. In order to evaluate the validity of the performance and the functionality of the system, authors conducted a questionnaire survey among third year students of the Voyage Course at Kobe University. The evaluation of the system suggests valuable potential for the small craft navigation assistance system. [Termes IGN] vitesse radialeRésumé : (Auteur) In order to enhance the performance of spaceborne synthetic aperture radar-ground moving target indication (SAR-GMTI) systems, multichannel systems with large and preferably nonuniform baselines are required. In this paper, SAR-GMTI algorithms for multichannel SAR systems, which we call multichannel displaced phase center antenna (DPCA), multichannel along track interferometry (ATI), and multichannel DPCA-ATI, are presented. Multichannel DPCA is a deterministic algorithm for clutter and azimuth ambiguity suppression. It successfully suppresses not only uniform azimuth ambiguities but also nonuniform isolated ones, since it does not require uniform clutter covariance assumption as adaptive algorithms do. Multichannel ATI and multichannel DPCA-ATI are the algorithms for target radial velocity estimation. Both of them reduce the target radial velocity ambiguities, which arise with the long baseline systems, by exploiting the multiple receive channel signals. And multichannel DPCA-ATI further achieves robust performance to clutter influence by suppressing the clutter and the azimuth ambiguity in advance. The performances of the proposed algorithms are shown through airborne Ku-band three-channel SAR experiments. It is shown that the multichannel DPCA suppresses strong azimuth ambiguity up to more than 20 dB, and the accuracy of the radial velocity estimation of the multichannel DPCA-ATI is on the order of 0.1 m/s. Furthermore, statistical performance analysis is presented to discuss the potential performance on the spaceborne system. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) We introduce the concept of time mask, which is a type of temporal filter suitable for selection of multiple disjoint time intervals in which some query conditions fulfil. Such a filter can be applied to time-referenced objects, such as events and trajectories, for selecting those objects or segments of trajectories that fit in one of the selected time intervals. The selected subsets of objects or segments are dynamically summarized in various ways, and the summaries are represented visually on maps and/or other displays to enable exploration. The time mask filtering can be especially helpful in analysis of disparate data (e.g., event records, positions of moving objects, and time series of measurements), which may come from different sources. To detect relationships between such data, the analyst may set query conditions on the basis of one dataset and investigate the subsets of objects and values in the other datasets that co-occurred in time with these conditions. We describe the desired features of an interactive tool for time mask filtering and present a possible implementation of such a tool. By example of analysing two real world data collections related to aviation and maritime traffic, we show the way of using time masks in combination with other types of filters and demonstrate the utility of the time mask filtering.
