[Termes IGN] SOLAPRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we present a formal framework for modelling a trajectory data warehouse (TDW), namely a data warehouse aimed at storing aggregate information on trajectories of moving objects, which also offers visual OLAP operations for data analysis. The data warehouse model includes both temporal and spatial dimensions, and it is flexible and general enough to deal with objects that are either completely free or constrained in their movements (e.g., they move along a road network). In particular, the spatial dimension and the associated concept hierarchy reflect the structure of the environment in which the objects travel. Moreover, we cope with some issues related to the efficient computation of aggregate measures, as needed for implementing roll-up operations. The TDW and its visual interface allow one to investigate the behaviour of objects inside a given area as well as the movements of objects between areas in the same neighbourhood. A user can easily navigate the aggregate measures obtained from OLAP queries at different granularities, and get overall views in time and in space of the measures, as well as a focused view on specific measures, spatial areas, or temporal intervals. We discuss two application scenarios of our TDW, namely road traffic and vessel movement analysis, for which we built prototype systems. They mainly differ in the kind of information available for the moving objects under observation and their movement constraints. [Termes IGN] objet mobileRésumé : (Auteur) Several works have been proposed in the last few years for raw trajectory data analysis, and some attempts have been made to define trajectories from a more semantic point of view. Semantic trajectory data analysis has received significant attention recently, but the formal definition of semantic trajectory, the set of aspects that should be considered to semantically enrich trajectories and a conceptual data model integrating these aspects from a broad sense is still missing. This article presents a semantic trajectory conceptual data model named CONSTAnT, which defines the most important aspects of semantic trajectories. We believe that this model will be the foundation for the design of semantic trajectory databases, where several aspects that make a trajectory “semantic” are taken into account. The proposed model includes the concepts of semantic subtrajectory, semantic points, geographical places, events, goals, environment and behavior, to create a general concept of semantic trajectory. The proposed model is the result of several years of work by the authors in an effort to add more semantics to raw trajectory data for real applications. Two application examples and different queries show the flexibility of the model for different domains. [Termes IGN] reconstruction d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Compressive sensing (CS) for urban operations and through-the-wall radar imaging has been shown to be successful in fast data acquisition and moving target localizations. The research in this area thus far has assumed effective removal of wall electromagnetic backscatterings prior to CS application. Wall clutter mitigation can be achieved using full data volume which is, however, in contradiction with the underlying premise of CS. In this paper, we enable joint wall clutter mitigation and CS application using a reduced set of spatial-frequency observations in stepped frequency radar platforms. Specifically, we demonstrate that wall mitigation techniques, such as spatial filtering and subspace projection, can proceed using fewer measurements. We consider both cases of having the same reduced set of frequencies at each of the available antenna locations and also when different frequency measurements are employed at different antenna locations. The latter casts a more challenging problem, as it is not amenable to wall removal using direct implementation of filtering or projection techniques. In this case, we apply CS at each antenna individually to recover the corresponding range profile and estimate the scene response at all frequencies. In applying CS, we use prior knowledge of the wall standoff distance to speed up the convergence of the orthogonal matching pursuit for sparse data reconstruction. Real data are used for validation of the proposed approach. [Termes IGN] objet mobileRésumé : (Auteur) The emergence of technologies capable of storing detailed records of object locations has presented scientists and researchers with a wealth of data on object movement. Yet analytical methods for investigating more advanced research questions from such detailed movement datasets remain limited in scope and sophistication. Recent advances in the study of movement data has focused on characterizing types of dynamic interactions, such as single-file motion, while little progress has been made on quantifying the degree of such interactions. In this article, we introduce a new method for measuring dynamic interactions (termed DI) between pairs of moving objects. Simulated movement datasets are used to compare DI with an existing correlation statistic. Two applied examples, team sports and wildlife, are used to further demonstrate the value of the DI approach. The DI method is advantageous in that it measures interaction in both movement direction (termed azimuth) and displacement. Also, the DI approach can be applied at local, interval, episodal, and global levels of analysis. However the DI method is limited to situations where movements of two objects are recorded at simultaneous points in time. In conclusion, DI quantifies the level of dynamic interaction between two moving objects, allowing for more thorough investigation of processes affecting interactive moving objects.
