[Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSIndex. décimale : 30.61 Systèmes de Positionnement par Satellites du GNSS Résumé : (Auteur) Geodetic observations are usually processed by means of the Least Squares Method. However, this algorithm delivers reliable valuations of unknown parameters und associated accuracy measures only if the functional and stochastic models are appropriate. Observations using the Global Positioning System (GPS) are affected by various influences, e.g. by the atmosphere. Hence, it seems to be a reasonable conclusion that the commonly used stochastic model of GPS-observations with a scaled identity matrix with homoscedastic (i.e. equal variance) and uncorrelated errors is not adequate. The knowledge of the stochastic behaviour of GPS-observations can be improved by analyzing time series of residuals originating from Least Squares evaluation. Based on this analysis a procedure for modifying the covariance matrix of double-differenced GPS carrier-phase observations is presented. Essentially, it consists of two steps. At first individual variance functions for all double-difference observations depending on the satellite elevation for modifying the main diagonal of its covariance matrix are estimated. Secondly, temporal correlations are determined to adapt the other parts of the covariance matrix. All steps are verified by suitable statistical tests. The procedure is applied to extensive data sets with different characteristics. The results of the evaluation process, taking into account all realizations of the stochastic model mentioned above, are presented. It is shown that modifying the main diagonal of the covariance matrix with elevation-dependent variance functions leads to significant changes in the estimated ellipsoidal height of GPS-stations only for long baselines. The accuracy measures are not affected by this modification. In contrast to these results, considering temporal correlations in the covariance matrix of GPS-double difference observations causes distinct changes in the accuracy measures of all coordinate components independently of the baseline length. The objects to be measured must not be accessible for the few minutes of continuous data acquisition, as they should be in the case of photogrammetric recording techniques. The scanning instruments are able, however, to ensure data acquisition rates of over 1000 discrete points per second.
In addition to the introduction to the technology of scanning polar measuring systems, this work deals with the development of suitable algorithms for the acceleration of the measurement and evaluation process. In the context of the calibration of scanning polar measuring systems with tachymetric measuring principles, special aspects are considered in the sub-field of structured geometry data acquisition, and the difficulties in combining sets of data from individual instrument points of view.
The combination of the readings from different instrument points of view in a standard primary system can be seen as a time-consuming factor in the evaluation of data from scanning measuring systems. Through the use of the procedure described in this work a reduction of the required evaluation time can be reached. By an automated extraction of iso-levels from the point clouds and a subsequent automatic assignment of the identities using projective transformations, the resulting iso-levels can be inspected with respect to the linked systern instrument points of view. The additional marking and subsequent measurement of reference points can therefore be avoided.
The development of an appropriate calibration method for scanning polar measuring systems based on tachymetric measuring principles is a second central point of this work. Special attention is given in this work to the regulation of systematic deviations and the precision details of the various integrated sensors. A system calibration method based on an extension of existing calibration procedures is proposed. Building on the point connection algorithms, a calibration method is introduced. This uses iso-levels and the help of the adjustment algorithm to estimate calibration parameters, as well as the precision of the measuring instruments. In conclusion, the efficiency and bounds of the calibration approach are examined and evaluated using measurements from two different laser scanners.Numéro de notice : 13269 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=54949 Réservation

The first task is related to deformation analysis and contains the development of a temperature deformation model for the close-to-reality prediction / simulation of the effect of one-sided dynamic thermal loads on bar-shaped bodies. This topic is motivied by mechanical engineering searching new methods for the indirect compensation of thermal influences on highly precise machine tools (i.e. robot arms, etc.). In civil engineering the analysis of the thermal bend of slim constructions like towers or pillars under sun exposure is of great interest. The central part of the deformation model is represented by a finite element topology quantifying the non-stationary temperature distribution inside the body. The topology is realized by a system of partial differential equations which base on FOURIERS law of heat flow. The parametric identification of the structural model ('white box'-model) is carried out by means of adaptive KALMAN-filtering. In lab tests with an aluminium column the estimation of thermal diffusivity succeeds with a deviation of only 0,2% of the theoretical value. The calibrated model is verified by independent temperature measurements. It is shown that the deviations between the calculated and the measured temperature distribution are within the 3 u-range of the thermocouples (óT ~ 0,4 K). Consequently the model is suitable for close-to-reality calculations considering a variable spectrum of dynamic thermal loads. The combination with a deformation module enables the prognosis of the columns thermal bend with a relative error of only 3% related to the maximum deformation amplitude. The result fulfills the requirements for indirect compensation methods in industrial manufacturing.
The second task contains the parametric identification of a vehicle movement. On behalf of the DaimlerChrysler AG a module for map-independent positioning is developed. The central element of the module is represented by a KALMAN-filter with causative modified kinematic motion equations. The system equations explicitly consider measured changes in orientation whereby the usual inertia of kinematic models is significantly reduced. Testing the positioning module in different scenarios on highways, country roads and in city centres accuracies within a range of Sp ~ 2 ... 3 in are achieved.Numéro de notice : 13273 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=54952 Réservation

First investigations are accomplished in sports sciences as well. However, most geodetic GPS equipment is too large and too heavy for attaching it at the athletes body. Using the potential of miniaturized electronics, a special GPS receiver for ski jumping was developed. The hardware could be integrated completely into a common jumping helmet. Striving to an ideal measurement system with no influence on the athlete activities only little adverse effects remain on the athletes using the GPS-helmet. The topography of jumping hills results in a more or less shadowing of the GPS satellite signals. Not all jumping hills are applicable for GPS measurements. Measurement campaigns need to be well planned considering satellite constellation issues. Centimeter accuracy requires successful integer ambiguity fixing. Common algorithms assume uninterrupted signal reception over a sufficient long time. But the 10-20 seconds for an attempt, take-off, flight and landing are not long enough. Thus a laser light barrier array was developed. It determines position and time of the GPS-helmet during athletes take-off from the ramp. This information enables the ambiguity fixing and enhances accuracy and reliability of the solution, even for short GPS measurement segments. The system was successfully tested during some training sessions of german ski jumpers. It was shown which informations can be derived from positions and velocities for several phases of a jump. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageIndex. décimale : 35.20 Traitement d'image Résumé : (Auteur) The availability of highly capable three-dimensional sensor systems creates the need for adequate systems for automated processing of three-dimensional data. Contrary to conventional intensity-images, which contain information on the intensity of an objects surface, range images store the distance of each point on a surface to the sensor. In order to process these data on a high level of abstraction, new concepts need to be developed, exceeding two-dimensional image analysis. In the context of developing automated three-dimensional computer vision systems, this thesis brings two aspects into focus: partitioning the image data and establishing a correspondence in-between image- and model-data.
This work aims at developing a model-based system for the segmentation and object recognition of three-dimensional objects with curved surfaces using range images. The model data is represented using a CAD-model, providing a mathematical precise and reliable description of arbitrary shapes.
Within this thesis a newly developed method for model-based range image segmentation is presented, using curvature as invariant features. By integrating model information into the segmentation stage, the segmentation process is guided to provide a partitioning corresponding to that of the CAD-model.
The features extracted during segmentation stage are brought into correspondence with the features of the model using a tree-search strategy. The number of possible pairings is reduced due to the fact that model information has been utilized during segmentation. After successful pairing, the three-dimensional transformation of the model onto the object in the scene is computed, completing the object recognition process.
This work provides a way to compute the segmentation of objects in range images containing curved surfaces, detect objects in arbitrary positions and derive the transformation onto a CAD-model. Thereby it contributes to the development of automated systems in the areas of inspection, manufacturing and robotics.
