[Termes IGN] système expertRésumé : (Auteur) The thesis in hand presents a general concept for the automatic interpretation of remote sensing data with the interpretation of vegetation areas brought into focus, which uses both structural features and temporal knowledge. Based on this concept, a method for automatic multitemporal interpretation of moorland is explained. The developed procedures rely on a knowledge based image analysis system, which uses Semantic Nets for knowledge representation in standard language. During the interpretation process these are used for deriving hypotheses by applying a continuous symbolic processing, to verify them, and thus gain a symbolic description of the examined landscape scene. Verification of the hypotheses is carried out in the remote sensing data using specific processing operators.
The introduced general concept for interpretation of remote sensing data groups the object classes found in the landscape into various categories, according to their characteristics. Thus object classes were discerned which possess a given geometry, given texture, given pattern, or characteristic features. Interpretation strategies are suggested for each category, which relate to the creation of the semantic nets as well as to the specific image processing operators. Then the interpretation of vegetation areas belonging to the latter category is brought into focus. As such areas often are inhomogeneous and show numerous structures, the approaches of multispectral classification applied so far are less suitable as they result in oversegmentation, and either do not or to a little extent utilize structural features for interpretation. The new strategy presented here proceeds from given segment borders and searches for structural features within the borders. Such structural features are described by standard language and may be for example "tracks", "irregular structure", or "vegetation". Their verification in the images is done by feature analysis operators.
For interpretation of temporal changes a new concept is suggested, which discretely describes temporal conditions of regions, and which transfers the most probable temporal changes of the given conditions as temporal knowledge into a state transition diagram, then using it for multitemporal interpretation. Thus the temporal history of the past interpretations is used for the interpretation of images of a particular epoch by favouring certain interpretation methods, and a priori excluding others.
Based on the described approaches a procedure for automatic multitemporal interpretation of industrially used moorland was successfully developed. Proceeding from an initial segmentation based on GeoData a resegmentation and an interpretation of the segments is carried out for each investigated epoch. By using temporal knowledge it is possible to separate moor classes, which can only be detected in temporal order. The application of temporal knowledge and structural features enables the exclusive use of grey scale images for interpretation of vegetation areas. The results show that the presented procedure is suitable for multitemporal interpretation of moorland, and that it is able to distinguish additional moor classes compared to the approaches used so far. It is further applicable for a more robust multitemporal interpretation, and does not depend on colour images.Numéro de notice : 13067 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=54867 Réservation

[Termes IGN] qualité des donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Spatial data are always uncertain to some degree. Nevertheless, existing geographical information systems do not allow the consideration of uncertainty in any of the processing steps of an application. However, such a situation can only be tolerated if simple operations are used exclusively in a closed application environment. Only in this case the know-how of an experienced expert is sufficient in order to be able to test the quality reliably. On the other hand, modern applications have the opportunity to access external databases and use complex operators in an increased manner. A simple examination is no longer possible. Instead, a complete integration of uncertainty has to be developed and implemented into the work flow of GIS processing.
The major objective of this research is to develop data models and methods to enable the processing of uncertainty in a GIS. The investigations in particular focus on the processing of geometry as the most important component of spatial data. The phenomena of the real world are represented by objects. The discussion of causes which add for uncertainty forms the starting point for the development of models. Essential influences can already be found in the data collection step caused by abstraction of the real world, discretisation and measurement of data. All the influences have to be covered and described by a suitable uncertainty model. However, due to varied applications, no universal uncertainty model can be defined which meets the diverse requirements of practical work. Therefore, several alternatives are required. Basing on fundamental approaches, three different models are developed and integrated in the well-known object model: the Stochastic Model, the Minimum Maximum Model and the Fuzzy Model.
It is important for applications that data uncertainty is integrated into the different components of a GIS. Data collection receives the additional task to determine the values of the defined uncertainty measures. Different procedures are presented for this purpose, e.g. using multiple repeated collection of geometry or comparison with accurate reference data. Beside the ordinary visualisation of the uncertainty values as special displayable attributes it is interesting to see the spatial effect of uncertainty. Isolines and matrix representations can be used as possible techniques. The existing management concepts have to be extended in order to include the additional information. A geometrical or an attributive procedure provides a solution for this. The analysis step as the most important component in a GIS has to solve a transfer of uncertainty to the result. In particular, this step concentrates on geometrical analysis methods, i.e. length and area calculation, determination of the shortest distance and the geometrical overlay of objects. The necessary propagation methods are derived and discussed for all described uncertainty models.
The development is carried out without regard to special GIS products and therefore can be seen as independent. However, the research defines a complete concept which is suitable for the transfer to any system. In this connection the Geo data standards which are currently under development play an important role. User acceptance will profit from compatibility with these standards. A verification shows that the given definitions of models and methods can be embedded into standardisation without any problems, so that there should be no serious impediments to the practical implementation of the concepts.

[Termes IGN] réseau d'énergieRésumé : (Auteur) Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are used in the energy industry for the spatial documentation of energy network data through the use of Network Information Systems (NIS). In general, cadastral data is used in the industry for the documentation of energy networks of electricity. The modernization of analogue network maps through digitalisation, has lead also to the digitalisation of cadastral data, which has also been partially updated in accordance to the individual needs of various business enterprises in the energy industry.
As an alternative to the cost-intensive acquisition of vector-data (by interactive digitalisation) cost-saving raster-based technologies (for data acquisition) and hybrid technologies (i.e. common usage of vector- and raster-data) are increasingly used.
The separate Bureaus for Cadastral administration of the German states are supplying digital cadastral data in vector-structure, in the form of the German de-facto-standard ALK (Automatisierte Liegenschaftskarte -automated cadastral map), as a basis for specialized GIS-applications. Within the foreseeable future, large-scale digital cadastral data in the ALK will be available and will encompass a layout of the entire BRD. The use of the government's administrative geo-basis-data in NIS offers great economic and qualitative advantages for businesses in the energy sector. The main advantage is the possible automated updating of cadastral data for users of the NIS via the de-facto-standard-interfaces which are offered by the government administrations.
Solutions for the automated updating of digitalized hybrid data in specialized GIS by supplied administrative cadastral data do not yet exist. Due to deficits in the quality of and different data-structures of user-data, the use of the government's administrative digital cadastral or geo-basis-data within GIS-applications necessitates the development of extended concepts through the use of hybrid GIS-technologies. Operational products and concept solutions for a hybrid GIS data have not been approached or do not exist.
In this thesis, a concept for the automated updating of GIS-applications in the energy sector, using hybrid technologies with vector-based administrative cadastral data, is developed and tested. Vector-based, raster-based and hybrid GIS data manipulation technologies are examined, developed and tested on real data, as well as methods for geometric quality improvement of digitalized data and methods for automated extraction of objects from scanned maps.
The presented approach performs the automated, partially interactive supported, updating of hybrid energy documentation data by administrative cadastral data. The procedure can be applied to different applications, including vector-based GIS-technology and future data-models and transfer mechanisms for cadastral data. The thesis closes with proposals and recommendations for further research and practical use of the presented procedure.Numéro de notice : 27824 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE/INFORMATIQUE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=56448 Réservation
