[Termes IGN] module d'extensionRésumé : (auteur) The photogrammetric treatment of images acquired on a linear axis is a problematic case. Such tricky configurations often leads to bended 3D models, described as a bowl effect, which requires ground measurements to be fixed. This article presents different solutions to overcome that problem. All solutions have been implemented into the free open-source photogrammetric suite MicMac. The article presents the lasts evolutions of MicMac's bundle adjustment core, as well as some extended calibration models and how they fit for the camera evaluated. The acquisition process is optimized by presenting how oblique images can improve the accuracy of the orientations, while the 3D models accuracies are assessed by producing a millimeter accurate ground truth from terrestrial photogrammetry. [Vedettes matières IGN] CartologieRésumé : (auteur) The clutter effect occurs when there is an excessive amount of information in a map or when this information is disorganized. Better measuring clutter is essential to improve the quality of outputs of automated cartography systems. This paper reviews some existing methods for measuring clutter from different research communities, highlighting the lacks for automated mapping. Three use cases are presented to show what kind of clutter measures are required to go further with the automation of map design, particularly in generalization, in symbol/style specification and in Volunteered Geographic Information mapping. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationMots-clés libres : benchmark evaluation learning summarization Résumé : (auteur) [introduction] Map generalization is often considered as a cognitive task similar to text summary. Like text summary, generalization seeks to reduce the level of detail of initial data, highlighting the important features regarding a given need, and preserving the main characteristics of the initial data (Ruas 2002). The automation of text summarization is key research topic for language processing scientists, and it should be interesting to verify if the similarities in the human cognitive process lead to similarities in the automation techniques. Moreover, text summarization is a part of the multimedia summarization problem that also includes video and music summarization, and this complete literature is interesting to review. The aim of the paper is also to identify some guidelines for further map generalization research that can be derived from the multimedia summarization research community. This paper first identifies similarities and differences in both automation problems. Then, section 3 proposes ideas from multimedia summarization that could be beneficial for the map generalization community. Finally, the paper is concluded with some ideas for further research opportunities. [Termes IGN] véhicule automobileRésumé : (auteur) Accurate and continuous vehicle localization in urban environments has been an important research problem in recent years. In this paper, we propose a landmark based localization method using road signs and road markings. The principle is to associate the online detections from onboard cameras with the landmarks in a pre-generated road infrastructure database, then to adjust the raw vehicle pose predicted by the inertial sensors. This method was evaluated with data sequences acquired in urban streets. The results prove the contribution of road signs and road markings for reducing the trajectory drift as absolute control points.
