[Termes IGN] webGLRésumé : (auteur) The internet browsers nowadays show incredible possibilities with HTML5. It makes it possible to use all the power of your device such as the GPU and all its sensors, GPS, accelerometer, camera, etc. The ability to put hardware-accelerated 3D content in the browser provides a way for the creation of new web based applications that were previously the exclusive domain of the desktop environment. This paper introduces a novel implementation of a 3D GIS WebGL-based navigation system which allows end-users to navigate in a 3D realistic and immersive urban scene, to interact with different spatial data such as panoramic image, laser, 3D-city model, and vector data with modern functionalities such as using your smartphone as a remote, render for 3D screen and make the scene dynamic. Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : (auteur) Each National Mapping Agency produces a specific map product with a particular visual appearance that we define as a topographic map style. In this paper, we focus on the specific graphical characteristics of the designed topographic map product. We present the results of an empirical user study, aiming at identifying and assessing main graphical characteristics used by map users to recognize and to characterize the IGN-France topographic maps style. Our results suggest that 91% of the participants were able to recognize an IGN-France topographic map amongst other topographic map products. With this user study we are also able to distinguish which graphical characteristic play a role in map style recognition, either by the visual memory or by the visual perception. We have identified that the relief representation, including contour lines and the shaded relief, is one of the major graphical characteristics of IGN-France topographic style. Moreover, the representation of touristic POI, toponymy (and its lettering), the primary roads network and the forests are also essential for the participants. [Termes IGN] méthode de réduction d'énergieRésumé : (auteur) Many problems of image processing lead to the minimization of an energy, which is a function of one or several given images, with respect to a binary or multi-label image. When this energy is made of unary data terms and of pairwise regularization terms, and when the pairwise regularization term is a metric, the multi-label energy can be minimized quite rapidly, using the so-called α-expansion algorithm. α-expansion consists in decomposing the multi-label optimization into a series of binary sub-problems called move. Depending on the chosen decomposition, a different condition on the regularization term applies. The metric condition for α-expansion move is rather restrictive. In many cases, the statistical model of the problem leads to an energy which is not a metric. Based on the enlightening article [1], we derive another condition for β-jump move. Finally, we propose an alternated scheme which can be used even if the energy fulfills neither the α-expansion nor β-jump condition. The proposed scheme applies to a much larger class of regularization functions, compared to α-expansion. This opens many possibilities of improvements on diverse image processing problems. We illustrate the advantages of the proposed optimization scheme on the image noise reduction problem. [Termes IGN] image optiqueRésumé : (auteur) Land-Cover databases (LC-DB) are very useful for environmental purposes, but need to be semantically detailed to provide robust and instructive spatial indicators. Moreover, remote sensed data allow to cover large areas with high temporal resolution. Such multi-temporal data are very useful input to discriminate LC classes. Nevertheless, automatic fusion method need to be developed to provide high quality LC-DB. In this paper, several fusion methods are proposed and introduced in an existing Land-Cover mapping framework. Those fusion methods allow to take advantage of multi-temporal data. Those methods are compared, and assessed thanks to a very high resolution LC-DB.
