[Termes IGN] webGLRésumé : (auteur) For a long time people have been interested in the past and history and how we can go back in time using a time machine. And while we cannot invent a time machine, at least not yet, we can create a virtual one. Our ”virtual” time machine is an interactive web application that allows users to browse through and navigate within historical images (aerial/terrestrial photographs or postcards) that are projected on a 3D photogrammetric model (point cloud or 3D mesh), thus going back in time and interacting with historical 3D models and images. This was achieved by adopting a semiautomatic approach where the user identifies first 6 to 8 hints on the historical image and the photogrammetric model, then this information is used as an entry data to a photogrammetric software that computes the pose and orientation of the image. The purpose of this work, which is part of the ALEGORIA project, is to preserve cultural heritage, to give the users the opportunity to go back in time and study history of a place or simply discover howtheir hometown looked some years ago. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) We propose a new supervized learning framework foroversegmenting 3D point clouds into superpoints. We castthis problem as learning deep embeddings of the local ge-ometry and radiometry of 3D points, such that the border ofobjects presents high contrasts. The embeddings are com-puted using a lightweight neural network operating on thepoints’ local neighborhood. Finally, we formulate pointcloud oversegmentation as a graph partition problem withrespect to the learned embeddings. This new approach allows us to set a new state-of-the-artin point cloud oversegmentation by a significant margin, ona dense indoor dataset (S3DIS) and a sparse outdoor one(vKITTI). Our best solution requires over five times fewersuperpoints to reach similar performance than previouslypublished methods on S3DIS. Furthermore, we show thatour framework can be used to improve superpoint-basedsemantic segmentation algorithms, setting a new state-of-the-art for this task as well. [Termes IGN] signature spectraleRésumé : (Auteur) Urban material maps are useful for several city modeling or monitoring applications and can be retrieved from remote sensing data. This study investigates the impact of spectral and spatial sensor configuration on urban material classification results, comparing several configurations corresponding to existing or envisaged airborne or space sensors. Images corresponding to such sensors were simulated out of an airborne hyperspectral acquisition. At the end, the relevance of an enhanced spectral configuration and especially providing bands from the SWIR domain was proven, as well as the need for a fine spatial resolution to retrieve urban objects. However, the (late) fusion of multispectral imagery at 2 m resolution with hyperspectral data at 8 m resolution was also proven to lead to good results. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) This paper aims at detecting several urban morpho-type classes out of SPOT-6/7 imagery and Sentinel-2 time series. Urban classes of Urban Atlas are considered. The proposed strategy is a bottom-up one. It first detects basic urban objects (buildings, roads, vegetation), and use them to calculate multi-scale morphological features. These features are then fed to a Random Forest classifier trained from samples out of Urban Atlas urban classes. Obtained results is optionally merged with a Random Forest classification based on Sentinel-2 time series. Obtained results are promising. [Termes IGN] service web géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The French national mapping agency, Institut national de l’information géographique et forestière (IGN France), launched a new web service in June 2016, called Minecraft® on Demand specifically for young people. This free web service is designed to provide Minecraft® maps with the raster and vector geographic databases that IGN produce on the French territories. This new service was recognized by different community: scientific, young people, French ministry. Different statistics allow analyzing the success obtained since 3 years. The new using of Minecraft® on demand for national contest to imagine the future and for education is presented.
