[Termes IGN] orbitographieRésumé : (auteur) Many thermospheric mass density (TMD) variations have been recognized in observations and physical simulations; however, their impact on the low‐Earth‐orbit satellites has not been fully evaluated. The present study investigates the quantitative impact of periodic spatiotemporal TMD variations modulated by the empirical DTM2013 model. Also considered are two small‐scale variations, that is, the equatorial mass anomaly and the midnight density maximum, which are reproduced by the Thermosphere‐Ionosphere‐Electrodynamics General Circulation Model. This investigation is performed through a 1‐day orbit prediction (OP) simulation for a 400‐km circular orbit. The results show that the impact of TMD variations during solar maximum is 1 order of magnitude larger than that during solar minimum. The dominant impact has been found in the along‐track direction. Semiannual and semidiurnal variations in TMD exert the most significant impact on OP among the intra‐annual and intradiurnal variations, respectively. The zero mean periodic variations in TMD may not significantly affect the predicted orbit but increase the orbital uncertainty if their periods are shorter than the time span of OP. Additionally, the equatorial mass anomaly creates a mean orbit difference of 50 m (5 m) with a standard deviation of 30 m (3 m) in 1‐day OP during high (low) solar activity. The midnight density maximum exhibits a stronger impact in the order of 150±30 and 15±6 m during solar maximum and solar minimum, respectively. This study makes clear that careful selection of TMD variations is of great importance to balance the trade‐off between efficiency and accuracy in OP problems. [Termes IGN] teneur intégrée en vapeur d'eauRésumé : (auteur) For the documentation of time and space variations of water vapor in atmosphere during the Nawdex campaign (North Atlantic, Autumn 2016), a ground network of more than 1200 coastal continuously operation reference GNSS stations has been analyzed. This network spreads from Caribbeans to Morocco through Greenland. Retrieved IWV have been used to evaluate ERAI and ERA5 reanalysis and highlight improvements made by ERA5 (-0.2 +/- 1.6 kg/m2 vs -0.3 +/- 2.1 kg/m2 overall). They are also used to describe high impact weather events that took place during the experiment. The analysis of this ground GNSS network has been completed with the IWV retrieved from GPS data acquired by the French RV Atalante which cruises in the area during the experiment. IWV from shipborne receiver are consistent with both ERAI and ERA5 reanalysis (1.0 +/- 3.2 kg/m2 and 1.3 +/- 2.0 kg/m2 respectively) ; shipborne IWV also agree with IWV from nearby ground GNSS stations (-0.4 +/- 0.9 kg/m2). These results confirm the quality of shipborne IWV retrievals and opens up prospects for use in climatology and meteorology. [Termes IGN] teneur intégrée en vapeur d'eauRésumé : (auteur) This work aims to provide a quick review of different experiments conducted in the past for the estimation of integrated water vapor content from shipborne GNSS receiver. This state of the art will be confronted with results obtained using GPS data acquired by the French Hydrographic Ship Borda on a cruise over Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, from Brest to Toulon in August 2015; the estimated IWV are compared with satellite observations (MODIS) and outputs from numerical weather prediction models (ERAI, ERA5, Arpege, Arome); while differences between GPS and MODIS retrievals reach almost 4 kg/m2 in terms of RMS, agreement is generally much better with numerical models (2 up to 3 kg/m2 in terms of RMS). Use of real-time orbit and clocks product is also investigated in order to assess the performance of near real-time GPS-IWV estimation for NWP purposes. We will draw out the prospects in terms of possibilities and opportunities for the use of shipborne GNSS IWV for meteorology and climatology. [Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) Homogenization is an important and crucial step to improve the usage of observational data for climate analysis. This work is motivated by the analysis of long series of GNSS Integrated Water Vapour (IWV) data which have not yet been used in this context. This paper proposes a novel segmentation method that integrates a periodic bias and a heterogeneous, monthly varying, variance. The method consists in estimating first the variance using a robust estimator and then estimating the segmentation and periodic bias iteratively. This strategy allows for the use of the dynamic programming algorithm that remains the most efficient exact algorithm to estimate the change-point positions. The statistical performance of the method is assessed through numerical experiments. An application to a real data set of 120 global GNSS stations is presented. The method is implemented in the R package GNSSseg that will be available on the CRAN. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GNSSRésumé : (auteur) This chapter is organized into three parts. The first part is an introduction to space geodesy, the principles of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) geodesy, and the International Association of Geodesy (IAG). The IAG is the scientific association that organizes the space geodetic services that support high‐accuracy GNSS positioning for scientific and societal applications. The most important of the IAG services is the International GNSS Service (IGS), and the second part of the chapter provides a short description of the IGS and its role in providing the geodetic infrastructure and services that underpin precision GNSS positioning. The third part describes one of the most important products of modern geodesy, the Terrestrial Reference Frame (TRF). The chapter also provides a brief explanation of how the International TRF is realized, including some information on the current ITRF2014.
