The problem is separated into two parts, i) find a possible transformation of the model on the image, then ii) validate this transformation by aligning the model onto the image. We propose an extension of the traditional alignment method in order to deal with complex objects sustained by projective mappings. Much of the work is localized on how to cope with spurious data as long as processing time is not becoming too excessive. Moreover, the robustness and simplicity of the approach make it appealing for a broader class of objects, not necessarily urban parts. The input is a grey-scale image and the desired output is a collection of geometric objects. Here, those objects are equilateral triangles. The considered priors are paire-wise interaction point processes used in stochastic geometry. They are chosen so that their realisations are close to partitions of the input image. We define an algorithm for their simulation which includes birth or death and geometric transformations of an object in the current configuration. Posterior mode solutions are studied by coupling this algorithm with a simulated annealing. This approach includes post-processing to merge objects of similar radiometry. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (auteur) This paper describes a framework for surface reconstruction in urban areas from digital multiple aerial calibrated images. A dense and reliable DSM (digital surface model) is first generated and used to split the scene in two kinds of areas of interest - ground and buildings. The surfaces within these areas are modeled under TIN (triangular irregular network) form by a constrained Delaunay triangulation of a selection of 3D points and line segments provided by reliable true multi-image feature extractions. The DSM are reliable, accurate, and correctly reproduce landscape morphology (discontinuities, steep slopes, slope breaks, microstructures, etc.). [Termes IGN] optimisation (mathématiques)Résumé : (auteur) The French cadastral map consists of over 500,000 map sheets that cover the whole territory. The raster digitisation of these paper maps is in progress. In order to exploit them, we have to assemble and geo-reference the set of maps to make them superimposable on other geographic information in a GIS. The problem can be seen as a complex jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are the cadastre sections extracted from the maps. In this paper, we present an automatic solution to this geographic jigsaw puzzle, based on a non-combinatorial optimisation method that maximises the "sticking" between every piece and its neighbours. The first step is to extract image features from the documents. Then we compute the sticking relationships between each pair of pieces. The puzzle resolution itself is based on an L1 norm optimisation. A method to detect process faults is discussed. The final goal of the process is to integrate every piece of the puzzle (i.e. the cadastre maps) into a national geographic reference frame and database.
