In addition a-priori information is the criterion for comparing and evaluating all the results of inversion procedures. This work advocates to incorporate as much a-priori information as possible in the solution procedure.
For the purpose of checking the influence of this a-priori information on the results the a-posteriori covariance matrix in particular is considered as a criterion of evaluation. A kind of contrast amplification of its content of information is achieved, by comparing it with a suitable criterion covariance matrix. This results in indications about the spreading of the solution relative to any criterion, or about the reduction of spreading due to the (gravimetrical) data relative to the a-priori information. A more precise specification can be achieved by means of the eigenvalue / eigenvector analysis. This also allows for indications about the properties of an additional, new observation method, which would be able to increase the resolution of the density distribution of interest.
The influence of the non-linearity, which is usually introduced by use of a-priori information, is treated.
To test the practical usefulness of these ideas, a software package named INVERT was developed. It allows for many kinds of influence concerning a-priori information, in particular by adapting the parametrization and by inviting to define the spreading of the a-priori information as extensive as possible.
A case study of the Meerfelder Maar shows how a potentially underdetermined inversion problem can be solved with a reasonable result, by incorporation of specific kinds of (geological) a-priori information. The results indicate which components of the a-priori information will be corrected by gravimetrical data, while avoiding their total rejection, and which kind of a-priori information should be verified very well, because it is not checked by any gravimetrical data.Numéro de notice : 67051 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=61693 Réservation

The determination of both components must be seen as a uniform problem which is denoted by inte-grated geodesy. It is characterized by the combination of all possible available geometric and physical observables.
The main problem within the integrated adjustment is that the dependence of the various observations on the gravity potential function has a different structure. The observables depend either on the gravity potential itself or on its derivatives. The problem of how to treat the function-dependent parameters in the adjustment leads to different approaches of the integrated geodesy.
In the discrete approach the functionals of the gravity field are considered as discrete deterministic quantities disregarding their common dependence on the underlying function. In every point the coordinates, the disturbing potential and its derivatives have to be estimated as discrete unknowns. The pure geometrical approach is a particular case of this approach if we consider the astronomical coordinates as parameters in the gravity field.
The computed reference potential and its derivatives are the result of a previous data analysis and they are therefore the outcome of random variables which differ from the corresponding true values. So the observations are not the only available information for the model parameter. The prior estimates will be introduced as pseudo-observations of the corresponding parameters affected by errors. This approach is called model with prior information.
In the analytical approach the unknown disturbing potential is modeled as a deterministic function depending on a finite set of unknown discrete parameters. As simple base functions the potentials of point masses can be used. The masses and the positions of the point masses have to be estimated in the adjustment.
An emphasis of this work is the detailed analysis of the listed approaches. Several aspects will be treated. The comprehensive description of the basis is followed by the classification of previous pub--lications. The disposable observations are not sufficient for the clear determination of the choosen geometrical and physical parameters. Therefore a comprehensive rank defect analysis is carried out with the linearized observation equations. The practical applicability of the approaches will be investi--gated with a three-dimensional example. Some information about the sensitivity of the observations referring to the determined quantities and the accessible accuracies is given.
The comparison of the approaches is concentrated essentially to the quality of the determination of coordinates and to the question, how the particular observables affect the determination of the different groups of parameters. The horizontal position of points is mainly determined by GPS observations, measurements of distance or horizontal direction. Zenith distances and GPS observations contribute to the determination of the vertical position of points. Measurements of gravity and potential differences do not influence the determination of the coordinates. The parameters of the gravity field, which are choosen in the different approaches, are determined exclusively by the physical observations.
Beside the analysis and the comparison of the approaches remains another important aspect. It has to be determined how the geometry of the net is influenced by the type of treating the functionals of the gravity field. The results of this investigation lead to the conclusion that the type of treating the functionals of the gravity field does not affect the geometry of the net. Concerning the quality of the determination of coordinates the analysed approaches can be considered as equivalent.Numéro de notice : 28011 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63358 Réservation

[Vedettes matières IGN] AltimétrieIndex. décimale : 30.52 Marégraphie et niveau moyen des mers Résumé : (Auteur) Tide gauge measurements are the essential tool for the determination of long term sea level changes in the last 100 - 200 years. This investigation is focussed on the southern Baltic Sea, especially the tide gauges Wismar and Warnemiinde in the German federal state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The measurements at these locations were started in the middle of the last century. During that time the type of measurement devices, the measurement rate and the height reference of the tide gauges changed several times. Therefore, corrections were necessary in order to create homogenous tide gauge records. Special emphasize is put on the control of the long term stability of the tide gauges. Additional geodetic measurements are of prime importance for this purpose.
The analysis of the tide gauge records were done as well in time as in frequency domain. Investigations concer-ning the linear trend shows that the trend determined from observations of the last 20 - 30 years is about twice of the trend for the whole time interval of about 140 years. One possible reason for this phenomenon are sea level changes with a period of about 25 - 30 years, which can be identified in the whole record. Therefore, the risen sea level of the last 20 - 30 years is not necessarily an evidence for the human impact on sea level changes.
Long term changes in tide gauge records may be caused by secular sea level changes and by vertical crustal mo-vements. In order to separate both effects satellite geodetic methods, especially by using the Global Positioning System (GPS), play an increasing role for the height control of the tide gauge benchmarks. Recent activities in the Baltic Sea are mentioned. Special emphasize is put on the estimation of the accuracy of the measurements.
Satellite altimetry has reached an accuracy which enables the estimation of secular sea level changes. The measurements of 8 tide gauges were used in order to verify measurements of the TOPEX/POSEIDON mission. The interpolation of the sea surface topography between the tide gauge location and the altimeter measurement points was realized by hydrokinematic levelling. The comparison of both methods shows an agreement of about ±3cm.Numéro de notice : 28007 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63354 Réservation
