[Termes IGN] International Terrestrial Reference FrameRésumé : (auteur) In preparation for the computation of ITRF2008, the DORIS IGN analysis center has undertaken the task of a complete reprocessing of all DORIS data from 1993.0 to 2009.0, using all available DORIS data as well as the most recent models and estimation strategies. We provide here a detailed description of the major improvements recently made in the DORIS data processing, mainly in terms of solar radiation pressure, atmospheric drag, gravity field, and tropospheric correction. We address here the impact of the new IGN time series (ignwd08) on geodetic products using comparison to the previous IGN solutions (ignwd04). In particular, previous artifacts, such as 118-day or 1-year periodic errors in the TZ-geocenter solution or in the vertical component of high latitude DORIS tracking stations, have now disappeared, leading to more precise and reliable time series of DORIS station coordinates. Finally, possible future improvements are discussed proposing new investigations for the future. [Termes IGN] programmation par contraintesRésumé : (auteur) Cartographic generalization seeks to summarize geographical information from a geo-database to produce a less detailed and readable map. The specifications of a legible map are translated into a set of constraints to guide the generalization process and evaluate it. The global evaluation of the map, or of a part of it, consisting in aggregating all the single constraints satisfactions, is still to tackle for the generalization community. This paper deals with the use of the social welfare theory to handle the aggregation of the single satisfactions on the map level. The social welfare theory deals with the evaluation of the economical global welfare of a society, based on the individual welfare. Different social welfare orderings are adapted to generalization, compared and some are chosen for several generalization use cases. Experiments with topographic maps are carried out to validate the choices. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) The problem of choosing an optimal reference system for the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) is studied for both the rigorous solution which is a simultaneous stacking (removal of the reference system at each data epoch and implementation of a linear in time coordinate model) for all techniques, as well as for the usual numerically convenient separation into a set of individual stackings one for each technique and a final combination step for the derived initial coordinates and velocities. Two approaches are followed, an algebraic and a kinematic one. The algebraic approach implements the inner constraints, which minimize the sum of squares of the unknown parameters, as well as partial inner constraints, which minimize the sum of squares of a subset of the unknown parameters. In the kinematical approach the optimal minimal constraints are derived by requiring the minimization of the apparent coordinate variations: (a) with respect to the origin by imposing constant coordinates for the network barycenter, (b) with respect to orientation by imposing zero relative angular momentum for the network points conceived as mass points with equal mass and (c) with respect to the scale by imposing constant mean quadratic size (involving the distances of stations from their barycenter). [Termes IGN] web mappingRésumé : (auteur) Improving the use of vector data in web mapping is often shown as an important challenge. Such shift from raster to vector web maps would open web mapping and GIS to new innovations and new practices. The main obstacle is a performance issue: Vector web maps in nowadays web mapping environments are usually too slow and not usable. Existing techniques for vector web mapping cannot solve alone the performance issue. This article describes a unified framework where some of these techniques are integrated in order to build efficient vector web mapping clients and servers. This framework is composed of the following elements: Specific formats for vector data and symbology, vector tiling, spatial index services, and generalization for multi-scale data. A prototype based on this framework has been implemented and has shown satisfying results. Some principles for future standards to support the development of vector web mapping are given. [Termes IGN] transformation de coordonnéesRésumé : (auteur) The International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF), the Earth Orientation Parameter (EOP) time series, and the International Celestial Reference Frame are obtained separately and may thus present inconsistencies. To solve this problem, a first step has been made with the latest ITRF realization (ITRF2005), which has been computed, for the first time, with consistent EOP time series. Another approach to better understand this issue is to directly estimate, in the same process, station positions and EOP time series, from all the space-geodetic measurements. In the framework of the French Groupe de Recherche de Géodésie Spatiale (GRGS) activities, this latter approach has been studied for several years. For this purpose, the observations of VLBI, SLR, GPS, and DORIS techniques are combined using the same models and software for all the individual data processing. In this paper, we study methodological issues regarding the definition and the consistency of the weekly combined terrestrial frames.
