The process takes into account drawing rules used by cartographers and properties of the natural network graph, in order to provide a geometrically and topologically correct graph. Working with a graph, obtained by vectorization, we have a good matching between the data and the natural graph concept and so, we apply directly the rules defined on the real network for reconstructing the cartographic network.
