[Termes IGN] réseau socialRésumé : (auteur) Modelling social interactions in volunteered geographic information projects requires defining what binds contributors together. In order to be as realistic as possible, instead of choosing one social aspect to study, we choose to build a multi-layered social network that contains several types of interaction between VGI contributors. The analysis of such a multigraph should allow the detection of communities and the definition of typical profiles of contributors. A use case on OpenStreetMap illustrates what inferences can be made about contributions based on their authors. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (auteur) Customized mapping needs to rely on a strategy to help mapmakers in designing their maps. Our approach is based on analogy between existing sample maps and the wished customized map. The challenge consists in being able to offer the appropriate maps according to each mapmaker’s specifications. We have focused on the perception of seven selected visual properties of maps. To qualify this perception, a user test was set up. A sample map database was built in order to collect assessment of participants about visual properties. Test results were investigated through property and by statistical features. Analyses show that among properties, some are scored as more extreme and/or unanimous than others. Correlations between properties were also highlighted, which clarifies the characterization of sample maps. We then suggested a way to discover the database in a custom-made map process by using relevant queries based on statistical features of properties. Recommendations on exploiting a sample map database are finally formulated. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) OpenStreetMap data comprise of very detailed (e.g. zebra crossing) and quite rough features (e.g. built-up area). But making large scale maps from data with inconsistent level of detail often blurs map comprehension. This paper explores the automatic harmonization of OpenStreetMap data for large scale maps, i.e. the process that transforms rough objects to make them consistent with detailed objects. A typology of the new operators that harmonization requires is presented and six algorithms that implement the operators are described. Experiments with these algorithms raise several research questions about automation, parametrization, or the level of abstraction of the transformation, which are discussed in the paper.
