[Termes IGN] recherche d'image basée sur le contenuRésumé : (auteur) Advances in high resolution remote sensing image analysisare currently hampered by the difficulty of gathering enoughannotated data for training deep learning methods, giving riseto a variety of small datasets and associated dataset-specificmethods. Moreover, typical tasks such as classification andretrieval lack a systematic evaluation on standard benchmarksand training datasets, which make it hard to identify durableand generalizable scientific contributions. We aim at uni-fying remote sensing image retrieval and classification witha new large-scale training and testing dataset, SF3001, in-cluding both vertical and oblique aerial images and madeavailable to the research community, and an associated fine-tuning method. We additionally propose a new adversarialfine-tuning method for global descriptors. We show that ourframework systematically achieves a boost of retrievalandclassification performance on nine different datasets com-pared to an ImageNet pretrained baseline, with currently noother method to compare to. [Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) Homogenization is an important and crucial step to improve the usage of observational data for climate analysis. This work is motivated by the analysis of long series of GNSS Integrated Water Vapour (IWV) data which have not yet been used in this context. This paper proposes a novel segmentation method that integrates a periodic bias and a heterogeneous, monthly varying, variance. The method consists in estimating first the variance using a robust estimator and then estimating the segmentation and periodic bias iteratively. This strategy allows for the use of the dynamic programming algorithm that remains the most efficient exact algorithm to estimate the change-point positions. The statistical performance of the method is assessed through numerical experiments. An application to a real data set of 120 global GNSS stations is presented. The method is implemented in the R package GNSSseg that will be available on the CRAN. [Termes IGN] simulation spatialeRésumé : (auteur) The sensitivity analysis and validation of simulation models require specific approaches in the case of spatial models. We describe the spatialdata scala library providing such tools, including synthetic generators for urban configurations at different scales, spatial networks, and spatial point processes. These can be used to parametrize geosimulation models on synthetic configurations, and evaluate the sensitivity of model outcomes to spatial configuration. The library also includes methods to perturb real data, and spatial statistics indicators, urban form indicators, and network indicators. It is embedded into the OpenMOLE platform for model exploration, fostering the application of such methods without technical constraints. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) This paper describes a methodology to produce a 7-classes land cover map of urban areas from very high resolution images and limited noisy labeled data. The objective is to make a segmentation map of a large area (a french department) with the following classes: asphalt, bare soil, building, grassland, mineral material (permeable artificialized areas), forest and water from 20cm aerial images and Digital Height Model. We created a training dataset on a few areas of interest aggregating databases, semi-automatic classification, and manual annotation to get a complete ground truth in each class. A comparative study of different encoder-decoder architectures (U-Net, U-Net with Resnet encoders, Deeplab v3+) is presented with different loss functions. The final product is a highly valuable land cover map computed from model predictions stitched together, binarized, and refined before vectorization. [Termes IGN] recherche d'image basée sur le contenuRésumé : (auteur) This article proposes to study the behavior of recent and efficient state-of-the-art deep-learning based image descriptors for content-based image retrieval, facing a panel of complex variations appearing in heterogeneous image datasets, in particular in cultural collections that may involve multi-source, multi-date and multi-view contents. For this purpose, we introduce a novel dataset, namely Alegoria dataset, consisting of 12,952 iconographic contents representing landscapes of the French territory, and encapsultating a large range of intra-class variations of appearance which were finely labelled. Six deep features (DELF, NetVLAD, GeM, MAC, RMAC, SPoC) and a hand-crafted local descriptor (ORB) are evaluated against these variations. Their performance are discussed, with the objective of providing the reader with research directions for improving image description techniques dedicated to complex heterogeneous datasets that are now increasingly present in topical applications targeting heritage valorization.
