This traverse was observed both as "normal traverse" (NT) with simultaneous measurements of the vertical angles from both sides and as traverse with observations in the middle of each line (MT). The observations were rigorously adjusted in an ellipsoidal reference system in different variations as closed and free traverse, with and without astronomical observations. The most important results are the following: The closing error in height is extremely small (<= 26 mm), if the vertical angles are measured in 4 sets, each set at another day. If only one set is measured, the closing error increases to 13 cm (NT) resp. 18 cm (MT). Both methods give the heights with the same accuracy. If the astronomical observations are neglected the heights change up to 36 cm. These changes correspond with high accuracy to the result of pure astronomic levelling. The closing error in position varies between 26 cm and 59 cm. It is supposed that this relatively large error is mainly caused by errors of the azimuths and longitudes in the Laplace points. If all astronomical observations are neglected the closing error in position increases up to 120 cm. If only the Laplace azimuths are taken into consideration, we get approximately the same positions of the traverse points as with all astronomical observations. This underlines the well known importance of Laplace points. [Termes IGN] réseau géodésiqueIndex. décimale : 30.30 Triangulation - géodésie terrestre Résumé : (Auteur) Part 1 of a series of articles for the optimal design of geodetic nets is devoted to the question what kind of configuration of the net points is best in some sense. We assume the weight matrix of the observations (second order design matrix) to be known and ask for an optimal configuration matrix of the net points (first order design matrix). The Gauss-Markov model is used to find best linear unbiased estimators. + Best + is interpreted with a catalogue of more than hundred different risk functions, classified to D, A, I and E. A D-optimal design minimizes the determinant of the variance-covariance matrix of the net points, called the generalized variance, A-optimal design minimizes the trace of this dispersion matrix, called the average variance. An I-optimal design is a balance of the error ellipses in the net to be circular and identical. In an E-optimal design all eigenva-lues of the variance-covariance matrix of the net coordinates are identical. Of special importance are the Hilbert basis theorems, syzygies, Taylor-Karman structures , an equivalence and a simultaness lemma for optimal design. To get some experience with the universe of risk functions and to be able to find the appropiate ones, five million risk functions were calculated and analyzed for intersection, resection and fixed geodetic net problems. In general, the D-design is more sensitive than the A-design. For a fixed configuration of net points the D-design gives very often saddle points instead of minima. In a free configuration of net points the globel optima for D and A are identical because of syzygies. Compared to the other gain functions the I-optimal design has some favorable features. Its homogenous and isotropic geodetic net is distinguished by error ellipses which are circular and identical at different points. [Termes IGN] triangulation d'autres paysIndex. décimale : 30.32 Travaux de triangulation Résumé : (Auteur) 1. In preceeding publications [1, 2, 4, 5, 12] the author developed an approxi-mative method for the three dimensional computation of a network in a local Cartesian coordinate system. With this method the astronomical azimuths, the horizontal directions and the vertical angles are reduced to the zenith direction of the central point. The reduced quantities are then used as fictive observations in the adjustment, neglecting the mutual correlations. This method has the advantage that the number of unknowns are essentially reduced. But it has also the disadvantage, that it is only an approximative method, and that in each point of the network the astronomical latitude and longitude must be known.
2. In order to investigate the errors of this approximative method, and in order to eliminate the disadvantage that in each point of the network astronomical latitude and longitude observations are necessary, observation equations for the rigorous adjustment of a spatial network in a local Cartesian coordinate system are derived. With the rigorous method the observed quantities, such as distances, directions, vertical angles, further the astronomical latitudes, longitudes and azimuths are immediately corrected by the adjustment. For the astronomical latitude and longitude observations the observation equations derived by Wolf [9] were used.
3. The rigorous and approximative methods for the adjustment of a spatial network in a local Cartesian coordinate system were applicated to the spatial network Heerbrugg in the lower Alps and to a spatial network in the hilly area of Stuttgart. In order to test the rigorous local adjustment both networks were adjusted too according to the rigorous method with an ellipsoidal reference system of Wolf [9] For the different adjustments a constant coefficient of refraction for the whole network and separate local coefficients of refraction for each observation station were introduced.
4. The rigorous local adjustments and the rigorous ellipsoidal adjustments coin-cide within the accuracy of the computation. The differences between the approximate and the rigorous adjustments are small, as it was to be expected. The mean values of the standard deviations of the position coordinates x and y are at _ _
Heerbrugg : m x ~ my ~ + 19 mm,
_ _
Stuttgart : m x ~ my ~ + 25 mm.
The mean values of the standard deviations of the heights are in both networks mz ~ + 34 mm. Hence the determination of heights is not essentially less accurate than the determination of position.
5. By the introduction of a local coefficient of refraction for each observation station in both networks the accuracy of heights was considerably decreased. It is true that with local coefficients of refraction the corrections of the vertical angles are somewhat smaller than with a constant coefficient of refraction. But this apparent increase of accuracy is overcompensated by the large standard deviations of the local coefficients of refraction.
6. It is shown that in the lower Alps near Heerbrugg the deviations of the coefficients of refraction from a mean value are smaller than in the hilly area surrounding Stuttgart.
7. It is further shown that by the rigorous adjustments with a local or an ellipsoidal reference system the Laplace conditions are rigorously fulfilled.Numéro de notice : 27870 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Monographie Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63346 Réservation
